Do you have a super old Apple Watch? Because this simply is not true for current models. I recall someone on reddit saying they couldn’t use the Apple Card on their series 1 watch. Definitely works on my series 4 and series 3.

I have a series 3 and was told by Apple and Goldman Sachs that all Apple Watch are not compatible at this time.

The Apple Card is my favourite product launch since Apple Watch. If they drop the interest rate to a simple flat 10%, Apple will attract a whole new generation of customers. 13-24% is a ridiculous cash grab.
13-24% is not unusual in the slightest for credit cards, outside promotional APY offers some cards use to entice signups and balance transfers. Many premium cards don’t even try to compete with an APY in this lower range.

And personally I’d be worried more about other numbers, and a lot less interested in ever paying that APY.

I can't say I would be proud to be in the consumer debt business.

Credit cards are very convenient, but they make money off of people who are in a bad situation or use them inappropriately, not those who benefit from them.
There certainly are predatory lenders. But there are also premium cards which are focused more on responsible buyers who don’t carry large balances, and make their money from transaction fees, and won’t approve people with credit reports that tend to go hand-in-hand with carrying a lot of credit card debt.

Just pay your bill every month and then it is 0%....
Well obviously. But the fact is not everyone pays their card in full, which means a lot of people are being charged ridiculous interest rates that are not anywhere in the range of what it costs banks to provide the facility. Unreasonable and excessive card interest rates is an area that is ripe for regulation and class action lawsuits.

The lack of Spouse/Additional Card once again shows that Apple isnt a fan of stable Families.

Photos lack a “Family Photo Bucket” option. iPad lacks family login options. And now Apple Card, the card built to intelligently track and categorize your spending, only supports one user. Your trusted partner has to apply for their own. So now that tracked family spending is separated among individual family members. You cant even manually add it to another account which means our master family iCloud account cant use the Apple Card to pay for iTunes purchases or our monthly iCloud bill.

Anyway, I’m not arguing it. Obviously this wasn’t made for me so I’ll move on. I just thought that the idea of a default “Apple Pay” card for the family was a cool idea. Its just too bad that I had to take a hard credit pull to find out that this wouldn’t work.

Finally got my invite to apply today and was approved. It was simple and only took about a minute. What credit limit is everyone getting and how does it compare to your other cards? I received $7,500 which is quite a bit lower than my other cards, but I assume it will go up over time like my other cards have.

Goldman Sachs just declined my first physical Apple Card transaction, claiming "FRAUD". I called them to inquire to the nature of their suspicion (given the very first use), and they admitted (after feeding me some BS for a few minutes) that they routinely DECLINE the first use of the physical card as a safety measure to really, really, really make sure that it is you who's using the card. WFT, Apple and Goldman Sachs? Paranoia got the best of you? Don't you have enough information about me, such as GEO location of the phone, location of the vendor, etc... ? Why resort to the old, tiring harassment via declines to "protect me"???

Apple used my Apple Card to pay my $6.99 subscription. Did not want this and checked to make sure I still have my Wellsfargo card as default.

If my Wells Fargo card is the default card in my wallet, why did Apple use my Apple Card.

Clearly not true. I requested the card, was added to my wallet within minutes and within seconds placed an order for an iPhone XS which got approved immediately. Maybe the rules are different if you buy stuff from Apple but I wouldn’t see why.
[doublepost=1566140461][/doublepost]“Apple Card support is handled through the Messages app, with support representatives available 24/7. All you need to do is send a text, which is a handy way to interact with support staff.”

BEWARE! Not true if you’re traveling abroad.
I sent three messages which all returned the same “canned” response:
“This feature is only available in the US”.

I also noticed that none of my transactions (foreign or US) are showing up in my wallet. I’m totally left in the dark.

Basically when you may need support the most, you won’t get it! And if there’s fraud you won’t know it until you go back to the US.
GS, THIS HAS TO BE FIXED!

There’s so much potential for fraud with this card it’s ridiculous. Yes there’s no card number visible, but from what I’ve seen, Goldman Sachs will still give out a card if the credit check is declined and accessing someone else’s account can be done with nothing other than their name, phone number and birthdate.

Basically it seems like security is an afterthought, which is exactly the opposite of what Apple has been claiming is the benefit of the card.

This is the ultimate lock in for iPhone. Say you run up a balance on the card. The only way to check the balance is via the iPhone wallet app. I found out you can call them, but even so you can’t set it up in any other bill payment app and there is no website for it that I can find.

So if you decided to ditch iPhone, you better be able to pay off Apple Card because you would have to keep calling manually every month until your balance is $0. So basically it’s just another way to keep you in their ecosystem.

I’m fine with it, because I pay off my cards every month, but I can see it being an issue for some people.

Does anyone know what will happen to the Barclay's Apple Reward credit card ??

I have one and need to know if I should dump it ?

That doesn't seem like physical use of the card though.

There's no web site to manage the account?

I think it's GS - they are new to the credit card arena and are pushing their approvals thru to get a large momentum going.

They are known to lend unsecured loans to subprime customers so it sits to reason that GS may be doing the same with their new credit card.

I believe Goldman Sachs/Apple is only doing a 'soft' inquiry when they look up your credit report..

No inquiries were reported when I applied

I wish more banks did that when applying for credit..

They do a soft inquiry before they approve you, but will do a hard inquiry afterwards. If your credit is frozen the hard inquiry will be blocked, but not the soft one.

By only requiring a soft inquiry though, that means someone can open an Apple Card using your information and you’d never know until after a ton of charges are racked up and your credit is ruined. That’s something a credit freeze or lock is designed to prevent, but it won’t in this case.

Hard pass for me. Why won't this card offer special financing options like the Barclays card does? I was hoping I could buy a MacBook Pro and get the same 18 month 0% interest deal, but it appears like I have to open a Barclays card for that. Ridiculous.

There is a separate setting for App Store/Apple subscription defaults in Wallet.

Web Interface and Quicken Support?

Has Apple/Goldman said anything about supporting web based access to the card and support for financial apps like Quicken?

I use Quicken to manage my entire financial picture but must resort to manual entry for the Apple Card only. Why would Apple/Goldman exclude such functionality? They must realize the Apple Card in not the only one people use.

Apple whispered they are looking into support for Quicken some time in the future.

I pay less than 6% on my MasterCard , I pay no annual fees, no late fees.
I only put something on credit when its interest free AND I get a good deal. Last MBP I bought was during a sale and I got 10% off AND interest free for 36 months, bugger Apples deal, too expensive.

It's a trade-off. I bet you don't get any decent rewards with that card.

Most of us looking for a rewards card don't care about the interest rate because it gets paid off before any interest charge is generated.

Indeed. I pay my credit cards in full each month. Free money with the rewards points I earn.
