Except it really isn't at least not in the same way it is in the US, where you can charge all your purchases on a credit card, pay off your monthly balance and increase your credit score to such extents that allow you to get much more advantageous interest rates on loans/mortgages, a higher likelihood of being selected in a competitive renting market etc.
That is pretty much exactly how it is in the UK... Utilise credit sensibly, don't use too high a percentage of your available credit, pay on time, and it's good for your credit score, and then you can access more favourable interest rates. I would imagine it's similar in Europe too?

Right, it is similar to that, however not the same extent as it seems to be in the US. In the US you can proactively build up your credit score by charging every single purchase to a credit card and paying off your monthly balance on time. With a lack of credit cards in Europe and very few incentives for people to go and get one in Europe it reduces the ability for people to increase their credit scores in the same way that the US allows.

Apple Card is starting to show up on Equifax credit reports, but not yet for all users, according to a Reddit discussion today.

Apple Card info is now being reported to all three major credit bureaus in the United States, with the other two being Experian and TransUnion. As with any credit card, Apple Card usage can positively or negatively one's credit score based on factors such as payment history, credit utilization, and age of the account.

To apply for an ‌Apple Card‌, open the Wallet app on an iPhone running iOS 12.4 or later, tap the plus button in the top-right corner, and follow the on-screen steps. The process takes just a few minutes, and if approved, a digital ‌Apple Card‌ will be ready for purchases immediately. A physical, titanium Apple Card can also be requested through the Wallet app for use at retail stores that do not accept contactless payments.

Apple Card's key features include color-coded spending summaries in the Wallet app, no fees, and up to three percent cashback on purchases, paid out daily.

Why the **** is Apple STILL not releasing Apple Card or Apple Pay Cash etc in the UK? Why are we in the UK treated like scum regarding Apple products? I am surprised they even bother to allow us to buy the few things we can. I have heard of America first but this takes the absolute ****ing smeg!
I have repeatedly asked and asked Apple and Tim Cook about this and they ignore me. Not a good look to ignore your fans this way and basically treat us like ****!

How come Macrumours is not demanding that Apple explain themselves? If they can release the card for the US they cn do for the rest of there world. It just boils down to plain greed and a hatred for the UK.
Pathetic!

That's not really how it works in many cases, especially when it comes to something that involves financial institutions, regulations, etc.

Weird, I thought credit cards always showed up. I got the Apple Card a couple months ago and it showed up immediately. Showed up as "GS Bank" though, so I wonder if it's been showing up for a while and people just didn't realize it because it wasn't labeled as Apple Card.

Wow - calm down! To be fair to Apple, regarding the UK, we are nearly always among the first to get every Apple product after release. There are very many countries who could justifiably complain much more than us about that. As for the card, I believe that is nowhere apart from the US? This might be more to do with regulators and banking systems elsewhere? I believe regulations were changed in the UK and/or Europe which pretty much killed off American Express in these markets, overnight. This all said, I have just seen Samsung are launching their card in the UK. That's smart - it will steal a good march on Apple Card (if it ever makes it) over here.

Further to my comment above, I have read just the article on Samsung Pay, and they are teamed up with Mastercard, so it is much easier to launch. Apple Card is its own unique system, totally independent of Visa or Mastercard. That will make it far more difficult to get going with Apple Card outside the US. Also, I have remembered that Europe set a very low limit on the fees card companies can charge retailers. This in turn basically kills off generous cash back schemes and other credit card benefits. That did for American Express, which had good rewards, but charged retailers a high percentage, which is why many retailers in the UK did not accept American Express. So, there are two good reasons why Apple Card is not in the UK yet, and might never be, and it is clearly not Apple's fault (and I am no Apple apologist).

Apple Card is a Mastercard.
