Not the best credit card but not that bad (suggestion: more benefits, more places with 3% cash back). Been able to control everything on wallet app is a plus (I hope there was a third party function for
Other banks)
The wallet app integration is the only reason I stick with the card. Otherwise I would gladly use another card if I can get the same wallet app notifications when using the physical card/card numbers as well. AmEx I know can do it, but so far they seem to be the only one to do it.

Is it not just a MasterCard?
Those are accepted everywhere…
Wait, they refuse using your Apple Pay on your phone, or even your physical Apple Card? It's a MasterCard... accepted anywhere MasterCard is accepted...
Right, well that’s nice on paper and all but if someone could please tell that to the people running these places that would be great

I still encounter places that are confused by the card or outright refuse to accept it. Really don’t understand why
Tell them it's a MasterCard and they're required to accept it or they're in violation of their merchant agreement. Get a manager if needed. If they insist, leave.

I had similar experience with a business trying to tell me they don't accept Apple Pay even though the terminal said it did. I casually lowered my phone to the terminal anyway and the payment went through. The guy got angry with me. He said the transaction was "insecure" and wouldn't let me explain why it was fine.

Thankfully they figured it out because the next time I was there (months later; I got pissed but it's the nearest Pet Supermarket to me so I can't avoid it forever) it was no problem.

I wonder if there are any hardcore  fans who moved to the US just so they could have earlier access to Apple services, which almost always seem to be US/English first.

I finally seen one IRL when a friend who's a big Apple fan (not just "i bought an iPhone years back", but "I have $15K worth of Mac hardware", if not more). It does look slick. Even got to touch/hold it :)

Me, I'm already set with a Costco Visa card, and will continue just "calling it a day" with that one.

Is the 3% just on Apple fare, or does it extend beyond that? How much in that case?

I haven’t thought of actually getting an Apple Card. Guess I think I don't a different credit card experience. Works fine, no problems.

Curious: for those who switched, is it really worth it and why?
I didn't switch, but tried to go from using a debit card to credit card to earn rewards and better fraud protection.

I love the Wallet app integration. Unfortunately, that is about the only positive.

I make payments with it, then pay the card off as soon as I can - usually the next day. Sometimes the payment takes effect right away, but other times it is several days. My card is maxed out, and I need to pay more stuff for the month and I have been waiting a week for my payment to post. So now I can't make all my monthly bill payments through it.

The other issue is there is no way to export your transactions. I track my spending Quicken, but you can't with this card. I plan on cancelling it and getting a better card. There is not a website for it either - so I can't even go copy/paste transactions. There is no way I would enter all our spending by hand in 2022.

Also, I think they have issues with customer care, but I haven't had it long enough to experience an issue that required me contacting them.

I wouldn't recommend using Apple Card.

How much long-standing debt does everyone owe at this point on the Apple Card?
I put a few thousand a month on my card. I pay it off every month on the 15th and again the last day of the month. The only thing I have ever had that spanned from month to month was pending charges. (I wish Apple would let you clear pending charges. When you know you have a very big charge coming, it's nice to make some room. I have a 70k limit on by business card, but accounting gets messy when I use it for personal stuff.)

I think you need to request a limit increase

I got declined at a hotel in Ocean City, MD because it’s a “virtual card” even though I had already booked via Hotels.com lol. I eventually got my way but it was so stupid.

That'd be crazy. Krazy with a capital K.

Moving countries isn't like moving between towns you know. (I know, I've done it a few times.)

I had this happen in Las Vegas, where I believe I booked using Apple Pay and when I presented my physical card it did not match and for whatever <hotel handwaving> reason they tried to tell me I didn't have a reservation... It all got sorted out but was a little off putting. OTOH, they really liked the physical card. lol.
