Can someone please explain to me what an Apple Cash Card is? Is it come with the Apple credit card or is it something else people apply for?

it's like a debit card in your you don't need to apply - you just set it up in your wallet. u.s. only for now though.

Would love a nice promo for existing users one of these days.

they just recently announced interest free purchases on macs etc. that's nice isn't it?

Has anyone tried complaining lol? I'm 50% joking and 50% serious. I actually wonder if anything would be gained from asking.

This! I have a bunch of money from iTunes gift cards and I signed up to get in on this promotion, but now I realize it’s impossible to get the promotion without spending all of my iTunes gift card money first. Not a good first experience with this card. Not happy at all.

edit: Maybe I’ll just buy a bunch of crap and then request refunds for it all to get my iTunes money back after making a purchase with the card.

I believe you can gift an app to someone — I’ve done that a few times and they always charged my card (not use store credit). You can also try loading more funds into your account? Right now there is a 10% bonus promotion (until 7/10). Can’t confirm adding funds can work though.

Also I just reached out to Support since I literally signed up yesterday 6/30 before this promotion went live on 7/1. They basically said “that’s too bad” And that they couldn’t do anything about it.

Apple is offering new Apple Card holders a $50 Daily Cash bonus when they use the card for an Apple service, which includes renting a movie in the Apple TV app, subscribing to Apple Arcade or Apple Music, or making an App Store purchase.

Apple says that the $50 will be provided as a Daily Cash transfer to the new Apple Card after a qualifying purchase has been made.

The promotion is being highlighted on the Apple Card website, as 9to5Mac points out. The deal is valid for new Apple Card holders who open an account between July 1, 2020 and July 31, 2020 and make any purchase from Apple Services in the United States within 30 days of opening an Apple Card account.

Daily Cash is transferred to the Apple Cash card after a qualifying purchase, but for those who do not have an Apple Cash card, it can be applied as a credit on a statement balance.

You can get a metal Visa card from crypto.com with 3% cash back in every purchase plus they give you free Netflix, free Spotify plus other benefits. You have to invest roughly 2k solar and put it in your wallet which also gives you 6% interest.
there is also option for 2% cash back with roughly 200$ in your wallet.
crypto in the future guys.

im an idiot, first to sign up, early user, racked up some charges, paid some expenses, and now others get the discounts and promos that matter. I feel like I just got Fuked and someone else got paid. Thanks Apple, one more reason to lose faith in Tim and the Social Justice Apple revolution. They really don't care about me.

Normally it is the early adopters that get discount. Not with Apple.

Jeez! There’s some seriously bitter people on here, moaning about $50; you guys have been enjoying all the benefits of Apple Card for however long! This is just business to get new customers. Deal with it!

Some of y’all so self centered 😂. Me me me. Great promo for new customers. Also entices people to sign up for a service 👌🏼

Well yes I am a bit biter I signed up for one this past weekend with the intention is going interest free on an iPad Pro+Magic Keyboard, for some reason they didn’t give me a large enough credit line to do that so I had to go through my Amazon Card which does. Then a few days later I see this, so yeah slightly bitter.

Does anyone know if it works to gift an app? I have a substantial iTunes balance and wonder how to signup for the card to get the $50 credit

It's a virtual / iPhone only debit card. It's what is otherwise used to accept money when if / when someone sends you money by iMessage (ApplePay).

Me personally? I never use those funds I just deposit them when they reach $100 or so.

Just found out today that if your credit utilization (and credit score) vastly improves over time and you ask to be re-evaluated for the better interest rate, the answer is no. So what you sign up for is what you are stuck with permanently. I’d say keep that in mind before accepting the terms if you are going to apply for the card.

I would reach out to support. They’re really helpful, I could see it possibly happening.
So a follow up - just got off an hour long call with three different Apple support reps - they had no idea that this promotion was even happening, and told me there's no way to apply it retroactively to accounts created the previous week. Pretty lame if you ask me.

And this is news just how?

Welcome to life.

Yes. I gifted an app using my account to my wife’s account and it worked. It’s the way around all the iTunes gift card money issue.
Dumb question then, does the $50 go to a cash account or where does it go and does it expire? Do you have to set up a cash account?

It will not expire. If you don’t have an Apple Cash account set up, you can only use the daily cash (reward money) towards paying off your Apple credit card.

More here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209227

Use Daily Cash with Apple Cash
First, set up your Apple Cash account. When your Apple Cash account is set up, you're ready to receive Daily Cash and have it added to your Apple Cash card.
When a purchase is settled, your Daily Cash is added to your Apple Cash card. You can use it to make purchases or send it in messages to friends and family who have Apple Cash set up.
You can also use Apple Cash to make a one-time payment towards your Apple Card balance.
If you don't have Apple Cash set up, your Daily Cash from Apple Card purchases accumulates. The Daily Cash that accumulates can be applied towards your Apple Card balance.”
