Apple today highlighted that the Apple Card and Goldman Sachs has been ranked top for customer satisfaction in the midsized issuer credit card segment, according to J.D. Power.

The J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Credit Card Satisfaction Study showed that the Apple Card ranked highest with a score of 864.1, across all of the surveyed categories including interaction, credit card terms, communication, benefits and services, rewards, and key moments. Apple's vice president of Apple Pay, Jennifer Bailey, said:
It is exciting to be recognized with this first J.D. Power win, just two years after introducing Apple Card in 2019 and the first time being included in this study. We designed Apple Card to help our customers lead healthier financial lives, so it's incredibly meaningful to see that our customers are valuing this. Being recognized as the leader in this category this year is an honor, and we look forward to continuing to deliver this product, service, and support with our award-winning issuer as Apple Card expands to more and more customers across the U.S.

The Apple Card launched in 2019 as a no-fee credit card designed for the iPhone and supported by Goldman Sachs, featuring Apple Wallet integration and Daily Cash rewards with up to three percent cashback. The card is only available in the United States.

The rewards system isn’t great, but the UX experience is far better than other cards. It is extremely easy to know how much you owe, when you owe it, and how much you’ll be charged if you don’t pay off your balance. It feels like the card UI is actively trying to get me to do what’s in my best interest instead of fleece me or trick me, which is how other card UIs often feel.

Personally I find their message support team to be daft and borderline rude. over the course of carrying this card, it has been compromised twice (I only use Apple Pay, Never have swiped or used the actual number for purchases). I have had it declined at the terminal for large purchases with apple pay, and have to approve it via email, then re-do the transaction. AMEX platinum, in 30 years I do not believe a single fraud incident or a declined transaction. YMMV, but I do not rank them at the top of my list for customer service over at Goldman. They act as if nobody really cares to be honest. I don't think I have ever seen a thank you words that would indicate soft skills.

I use it for some purchases and find the user interface and most features to be very easy to use. It's particularly worthwhile for purchases at Apple itself since you get an extra % for those.

I've had no experience with their customer support group, no reason to contact them.

I also find Apple Pay to be very useful for those sites that accept it. It takes care of providing shipment address and everything required, considerably easier than using a more traditional credit card for those sites where I haven't purchased something previously. For example, I saw the posting a few hours ago here on MacRumors re Nomad sale and ordered a couple of cases for my iPhone. I paid using Apple Pay (to the Apple Card) and it was a one-click purchase. Nice.

im sure theres lots to be "excited" about when talking about a credit card...

but this is another US only thing. As one of the many people on the planet who dont live in America... I wonder when things like this are planned to launch elsewhere.

Im in the UK and we are still waiting for ApplePay cash - we cant send money etc etc yet and this has been operating in the US for years now.

My number one wish, that if fulfilled would make Apple Card absolutely perfect, would be for them to stop penalizing people for doing a card number transaction.

It's so convenient and amazing to be able to get your card info on your phone securely, and then use it to order things online. We shouldn't basically get half as much cash back for doing these transactions all because the vendor doesn't support Apple Pay.

Other than that I'm extremely happy with Apple Card. If not for the card number transaction penalty, I would move EVERYTHING over to it and stop using my Chase Freedom card.

As a cardholder my opinion is

Pros:
Nice integration with iPhone and wallet
No fees
Flexing with your all white titanium card 😁

Cons:
Weak customer support
Bare bones perks
Activation/adding users has been flakey (definitely not “just works”)

Overall it’s a meh, and I regret wasting a hard pull on it. It’s basically a backup backup card that I never physically carry

I use my Apple Card for everything that allows credit and pay it off each payday. You can't beat free money.
Free money? Their rebate isn’t free. It comes from fees vendors incorporate into the prices you pay. Your just getting some of your own money back in the form of a rebate. You’re not even getting all of it back.

The app experience is fine, nothing game changing honestly as it’s still the same steps as paying other cards.

The rewards aren’t that great, even for a no annual fee card.

I really wish there was an option to have the Apple Pay Cash inside the Apple Card instead of the Apple Cash card taking another spot. I like to transfer rewards to a separate account, and Apple is not easier than any other card in that sense.

But with a yearly fee of $250 how good is that Am Ex Gold card vs the latest competition (Apple card $0 yearly) as far as overall fees & perks e.g. tons of air miles, hotel points or even cash back?
It can be a lot better for some people able to use the Gold cards credits, there isn’t a one size fits all credit card. The Amex Gold is my most used card, but it’s not for everyone.
