I love those Chinese companies that don't bow down to American companies like the rest of the world. Their mentality is you have a service/product , I will make mine I don't need you.

In the end we all win with options, I hate to see few companies running the show world wide.

I recall the days when Oppo were know for their superb blu ray players

Its that Oppo? I never made the connection...

Stay clear of anything from China that has to do with any of your personal info including financial

As if the American ones were any better

I use it solely to buy Apple products. It gives 3% cash back and you get 0% financing. Most cards will give you one or the other but rarely both, outside of special promotions.

That said, I like the payment UI and how it tells you how much interest you'll pay depending on the size of your payment.

3% and 0% is definitely fantastic! Except for cards that are specialized to one area (like an airline card that gives excellent rewards points when purchasing that airline's travel), that is a no brainer choice.

There is also the fact that Apple Card has already been bypassed and superseded in the UK. We had startups like Mondo/Monzo and Starling that appeared back in 2015/2016 and did/do everything that Apple Card does. The big banks noticed and started adding the features to their apps for their debit and credit cards. So these features are commonplace with UK bank account and credit cards already.

So apart from it being Apple and having that cool factor, it brings nothing new to the UK market that we haven’t had for a good few years now anyway.

IDK. None of these cards have distracted me from Amex. I have yet to see the big deal of Apple Card, though I want to.

biggest benefit is with buying new apple products. It’s easy to get instant trade in credit, zero interest payments, and you get 3% cash back on the full retail price.

most likely many business have sold your data to global fintech industry & we just don’t know it yet.

Bingo. I’m just north of the border to USA & we’ve not heard of any hint Apple Card is expanding anywhere. I’d l8ke to think this upcoming competition along with major changes to fintech industry such as SoFi etc could make money management, awareness, transaction fees for the better of the end consumer, yet I’m not that young to dream foolishly. We’ll see what Apple does and what comes of this.

Isnt that what Cadillac was for, to compete in the luxury segment? Lol. ;)
yea, someone brought that up here. but cadillac isn't chevy though — it's gm. as are some other car brands. at least that's what i know about it — didn't research this :)

Get this. My credit score is in the low 800s while my best friend's score is in the 825 range. I got accepted but he was denied. I wonder why?

Oh well, it's not a competition. However, I am curious why Apple is slow in introducing their services to other countries. There is no stopping competition. I am keen on Apple Card and Fitness+. However it confuses me why Non western countries are usually ignored. Maybe they think we are just not worth it so I don't think they care that Oppo or Samsung or other will offer them in their stead

One of the minor benefits that is rarely talked about, it's extremely easy to get credit limit increases with Apple Card. Not the only factor, but with a higher credit limit it does help raise my credit score. I also got a $13k Mac Pro with 6% cash back this year. That alone made having the Apple Card worth it.

Another benefit that I like about it, it's extremely easy to see past transactions that are even years old. I do alot of travelling and sometimes I find really good coffee shops or bakeries that I don't remember to save their location. Well, I can really easily look up transactions I made from last time I was in ____ City and then go there again.

with credit cards at least, I’m pretty sure Apple would need to work out deals with other banks to be viable in other countries. Plus credit card and credit processing regulations for every country are different and all insanely complex.

The search is a compelling feature. I pull data from Amex a few times a year, and it's always a pain.
