What kind of out of touch statement is this? There's significant issues with simply opening an account in another country. There may be requirements such as residency, citizenship, etc, not to mention at least for US users, you have FBAR/FACTA requirements for foreign accounts. Can't you transfer your funds to the USA and open up a new account in US?
How many people do you know that transfer $ out of your country? I think I know maybe a few. I've done it because I have relatives in other countries but .... I imagine if I asked everyone I know, only a few would know. What kind of out of touch statement is this? There's significant issues with simply opening an account in another country. That is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone say to have 5 years of bills in savings. Most common term I’ve heard is 6 months of expenses.Agreed. You should always have an emergency fund readily available and for such a purpose a HYSA is a great option.
5 years seems high but to each their own. People buy houses, have medical emergencies, etc.
The deposit agreement states that there may be a limit of ACH transfers per month based on amount and/or frequency, and that the app would let you know of those limits when you request a transfer. I'm on hold with Goldman Sachs chat to find out if there are any pre-existing limits.I haven't followed the Reg. D issue too closely, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows for sure...
For savings accounts, there is/was something called Regulation D that limited the amount of withdrawals or transfers from a savings account to six per month. I believe the regulation was relaxed back in 2020 (due to COVID) and some savings accounts allowed more (some, even unlimited) withdrawals/transfers from a savings account.
Does anyone know what the limit (if any) is on the number of monthly withdrawals/transfers for this new Apple Savings account?
Thanks!
They live in the Bay Area, which is one of the most international/immigrant filled regions of the US, and call me a terrible person but their profile also suggests they're a POC.How many people do you know that transfer $ out of your country? Out of touch, really? lol. Bit harsh imo.
Yes it is compounded daily.Just opened a card and its not there for me. AMEX is loosing a lot of money once i do its almost .58 percent more . Anyone know if its compounded daily?
All good, we're all entitled to our opinionsThey live in the Bay Area, which is one of the most international/immigrant filled regions of the US, and call me a terrible person but their profile also suggests they're a POC.
With that said, yes it was a bit harsh and I apologize. I do think that in a more ideal world transfers across countries should be much easier--some thing crypto is trying to do.
Regulation D has been suspended since April 2020, but banks are still beholden to Regulation DD (yes I’m saying this with a straight face).I haven't followed the Reg. D issue too closely, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows for sure...

I saw that it would take 1-2 days to transfer $ from my bank to my Savings account. It looks like my bank, which was linked to Apple credit card, is already linked to this account. Has anybody tried moving money from a checking account into this? Do you just click "add money" and go from there? I'm waiting for the tutorials to come out but I like what I'm seeing.
What is your point?Someone better tell Chase and Citi then, as they’re offering savings accounts too. Haven‘t personally seen anything yet from BoA surprisingly enough.
I've never been a fan of Wells Fargo Bank. Not sure why but they do have too many hidden fees. All good, we're all entitled to our opinions.
AGREED. It is such a pain and you get fees like crazy (at least I did with Wells Fargo) with limits that force you to incur more fees than you should. <sigh> lol.
My Citi masterCard and Chase VISA both offer HYSA. Your post said only AMEX & Discover offer this. What is your point?
Yes Tim Cook will personally monitor your 10grand himself and make sure its ok... Forget about the Trillions of dollars he is responsible for as CEO of Apple... Your 10K will be his main priority!Excellent! I want to transfer $10,000 right now but I'm also scared. It is Tim Cook who is going to be overseeing our money. Perhaps, later tonight I will be transferring a bunch of money to Apple Savings.
Thanks! I got my savings account set up and see the info now.I'm able to access the routing and account number already. Should be able to provide that info for direct deposit.
$250,000. They won't let you deposit more then that.I wonder what amount this is insured to?
So the savings account doesn't show up on card.apple.com, Mint asked if I'm able to see the account in the same place as the credit card account and surprisingly its not showing there.Does anyone know if you can track the savings account in Mint? I’ve just reached out to them to ask.
WowAnybody move over 250k? I’m about to. But have to update iOS first I guess.
Same issue here.Yeah, only my linked bank account shows up when i do this.
