well well well!

So any of those wondering, if you're in a joint account - it'll let you each set up your own individual savings account.

I was able to transfer my Apple Cash over instantly. Initially it gave me the option to add money from bank but it says 1-2 days. So I just added $ from my debit card to my Apple Cash (instant) and then transferred from Apple Cash to Savings (instant).

Cool.

I wonder how this will work on joint accounts? We each get our own Apple Cash based on the purchases we make on the same card.

I have no option to set up a savings account yet. But it's not 10am yet.

Edit: Second time I went in, now I have the option to set it up.

Edit2: "Savings Unavailable - Apple Pay Series are currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Edit3: On third try, it is now asking me for my full SSN. And above error. Constantly erroring out now.
Doesn’t go active till 1pm est

Does anyone find it weird that Apple's just calling it "Savings" instead of "Apple Savings"? They have "Apple Cash" and "Apple Card" but then "Savings."

On a separate note, I think it's just a matter of time before Apple introduces their own checking account. GM was working on a checking account for Marcus before scrapping it, so they might reuse the infrastructure they've created for Apple's checking offering.

I just tried to set it up, and when clicking on the set up option it say "Savings is unavailable." I guess I'll try again later today. Great rate though

There's better consumer protections with a credit card versus cash, check, or debit. It's also easier to shut down a credit card if there's fraud, versus shutting down a checking account. As long as you pay on time, you can get interest in your money in savings, and not pay any fees or interest in your credit account.
Plus CC fraud fools with the bank's money instead of your money. The bank will be way quicker to address it if it is their money.

I Just got account option to show up in Midwest US. I got the account set up, but the balance shows $0. Not sure when the Daily Cash is supposed to move over. The support document said it would happen automatically. I am also not seeing an option to schedule deposits (for example, $100 every month) which would be a nice option.

This may sound like a lot but it's not. You can get 4.47% (7-day yield in the link below) with Fidelity's money market fund. It is super safe at this point with no limits. You can probably do even better with Vanguard.

I reiterate that Apple needs to stop doing financial engineering and switch to doing real engineering. Make their products something that bring satisfaction rather than aiming to be the least bad option.
Comparing it to an uninsured investment account isn't an apples to apples comparison.

Go to Apple Card, hit the ... on the top right and choose: Daily Cash.

It's one of those options on that screen. If it doesn't show up right away, close your Wallet app and re-open. It appeared the second time for me.
I've done that multiple times and it still doens't show up...hmmm.
