Apple Care question about my MacBook Pro

no way that happen just by getting hot.
aluminum has a melt point of 1200F....so to get it soft enough to warp like that with no other interference, i would think it would at least have to get to 1/4 of that temp. i doubt it got 300F.

thanks for the wonderful info. i suggest you forward that information to apple and aware them of this as well.

Fahrenheit is not an absolute temperature scale. 1/4 of 1200F is 230 K, which is -46F. So it easily got to over 1/4 of it's melting point.
SCIENCE FAIL

I would take it back and try talking to someone else. The guy I talked to was under 30 I would say so maybe that had something to do with it.

What does the guy being under 30 have to do with it? I'm over 30, and I think I can still understand customer issues... but aside from that, I'm glad they took care of your problem. I would have expected no less myself, even from a guy over 30. :)

he was probably a new hire and didnt know the specifics of the warranty. :p some genius alright (or is it all right.).

looks like you pressed down on it or something. it didn't just happen from heat.

The other guy had it straight on. Atleast for the display hinges, ALL that is keeping it there is an adhesive strip which, in this case, looks like its worn .

I can't comment for the Express Card slot.
