I saw that channel on AppleTV this morning... HAD to watch. Really great to see the Greatest Band EVER getting their first exposure here in the US.
There was nothing like it at the time... (Elvis' appearance is a close 2nd)... and there will never be anything like it again.

The world has gotten smaller with all advances in technology in the last 5 decades since the BEATLES stepped foot on US soil... Any new Band or performer can be immediately exposed to the world in an instant... it can never be like it was in 1964.

Their music has stood the test of time, and will probably continue to do so for many many years to come.

I get the feeling that Apple love The Beatles :p

They have a very long history, starting with initially calling the company Apple Computer. They had to make a deal with Apple Records (the Beatles record label) in the beginning, promising to not get into the music business and compete with them. We all know how that went.

So yes Apple loves the Beatles, partly because of Steve, but also because their music still resonates and they were simply a great band.

I was listening to the AWOLNATION album and one of the tracks had a very Sir Paul-like bass line. Young people might not know the music of the Beatles, but they still hear it in today's music.

I really don't like this system of pushing out content to everybody, regardless of whether they want it or not. Content and the OS shouldn't come in through the same upgrade mechanism (ie I should be able to keep my OS up to date without cluttering the interface with stuff I don't have any use for). It's bad enough with the unwanted iPhone apps, it's even worse with Apple TV.

Conspiracy Theory: Apple is cluttering up your existing AppleTV so you'll want to buy the new one with a clean interface when they come out.

seriously the only thing i use apple tv for is airplay, something needs to be done.

I use my AppleTV every day, constantly, I really love it. What do you want?

I'd love all the complainers about the interface (which I have no problem with) to post their own UI/UX designs. Let's see what you got.

i would like apple tv to not just be an outlet to use other things but a stand alone platform like a normal tv box would. also disappointed you can't scroll the remote like you would an iPod wheel.

You're right - I couldn't do any better, but Apple could. That's my point.

Are you bragging or very young?

If his nick is a musical reference, then I am not surprised.

Never been a huge fan but they deserve the most respect. And I don't mind some of the bands I like cover them (Coroner, Ghost - which sound slightly Beatles-ish on some of their tracks on their second album, Dream Theater...).

But instead of adding a "channel" here or there Apple really should give the whole thing an extreme makeover, god they already have sold quite well and with a name like Apple behind it, this thing could easily become a hit. Just do it.

Nothing against the Beatles, but its messy to create all these niche channels for the ATV. I'm surprised it doesn't require you to sign in to a cable subscription to even use it.

I personally would prefer they add the Beatles Anthology TV specials from the 90's to iTunes rather than create a new channel on ATV.

Some channels do require a login. As many have said, I wish there was an :apple:TV app store so I could choose which channels I wanted.

But yay Beatles! My mom is a big fan, and it rubbed off on me. :)

Beatles?

What is a Beatle?

Something like a Bieber… but with real talent X 4.

I think a LOT of that was film, so I'm surprised that there hasn't been a "remastering" to BD version so that the HD version of the anthology could be rolled out. It seems past due. Maybe it will be for the anthology of the anthology in about 2024?

I wonder how well the Apple TV would be doing if they actually did have an App Store, but instead of being (relatively) open as per iOS, it only had the 30-or-so apps that Apple pushed automatically.

The App Store would look like a higher-tech version of early 2000s cell phones but without the few dozen $0.99 120 x 160 wallpapers and no games...
