Thank god someone actually understands why Cook is a horrible CEO other than "oh he isn't Jobs". This guys isn't innovative in the least in my opinion and this "great pipeline of new products" has yet to be seen. What did we get, a "new" apple tv that still has limited capabilities, three (or 4) years of the same looking hardware, no updates to the iMac that actually matter, the Pro is all but dead as is the mini (if the keep ignoring it even though they stated they are coming...). Since Jobs left all we have seen is slight improvements on the iPhone/ipad and I would even dare to say that we have seen steps back in the mac computer hardware and os.

That's not entirely true. They did introduce a downgraded mini that couldn't be upgraded through BTO. So, there's that.

Would a $1 billion investment be sufficient to figure out how to put more than 16GB in a laptop?

Investing a billion dollars in advanced manufacturing in the US? Hmm. Could that first company be Liquidmetal?

Good guess but nope. We are excited to announce we are moving the Mac Mini manufacturing in with the Macpro plant! - Tim

Damage control for stock.

Yeah it really was in trouble today. I mean it dropped like 0.3% and is only up about 27% this year...

Sounds like a lot of hot air when he has screwed over a lot of Western companies by not paying Qualcomm, bankrupting GT Advanced, screwing over Dialog Semiconductor, Imagination Technologies, etc. Cook is more dangerous to the West than all gitmo inmates combined.

Didn't Qualcomm breach their rebate agreement for about $1bn so far? Yes.

Didn't GT misrepresent what they were capable of manufacturing in order to secure and investment and then leave a bunch of shareholders holding the bag? Yes.

Aren't the employees of Imagination free to leave that company? Yes. And didn't Imagination rely way too much on ONE customer to the point where it's ludicrous to insist that Apple should stick with them forever because of their inability to diversify? Yes.

Does Apple owe any of these companies a lifetime subsidy or line of business? Absolutely not.

Now, perhaps hold corporate managers responsible for poor planning before attacking Tim Cook and comparing him to a terrorist. That's an insult to people around the world who actually ARE victimized by such acts. Shame on you.

Who wants to count all of Tim's "Uhhhhhhhh"'s? I don't have the patience.
[doublepost=1493870180][/doublepost]Apple is where they are because they keep secrets. After Microsoft basically stole Mac OS to make Windows 95, Steve was on a mission from God to not reveal what they are doing. It's engrained in their DNA to not announce anything they are working on.

It's true that iPhone sales in China has taken a hit. Now I see more Huawei or Vivo phone than iPhone in Shanghai which was not the case till last year. There are more iPhone 5/5S/Se than 7/7 Plus.

Presumably Cramer didn't ask why Apple hasn't brought out new desktops in a long time. Certain journalists didn't ask those questions of Apple executives at last year's WWDC and considering it's a multi-billion dollar business you'd think someone would be interested.

My suspicion is these interviews are highly choreographed and the interviewer complies in order to secure future interviews. Probably the same thing for last years WWDC interview of Shiller/Federighi

Jim Kramer? journalist? please...

There is an obvious reason Cook goes to Kramer... it's an infomercial! don't you see? all questions are scripted by apple weeks in advance. Kramer is just the time slot.

Nice one-sided argument, Post and run without explainaing anything. Because you know, "Cook" is at fault for all of those things that you just listed.

You seriously brought the QUALCOMM issue into this? Or did you just forget to mention that they actually retracted/breached their rebate terms and policy conditions? But, I'm sure Apple is completely at fault for this. And it's not a two-way street, am I right?

GT Advanced you say? Aside from the fact they weren't even forthcoming what they could actually manufacture and develop. GT put themselves in a corner without a way out. That's called self-infliction. But it must be Apple's Doing for their demise.

I came here to comment on this...

First off, I'll say the watch is a perfectly adequate device and I've bought both s0 and now s2.

Second - if anyone thinks the watch is going to be a major reason for them to lose weight - they're smoking something. I think Tim is way off base on even alluding to this claim. 75% (greater, IMO) of one's ability to lose weight comes from their diet. Until the watch monitors or senses the food moving into my pie hole, the watch can't help that. Sure it can count my steps and keep my over 10,000 per day - or count my laps for me when I swim, but I have no preconceived notion that the watch has any significant effect on my or anyone's ability to manage their weight.

Completely agree. If you have the will power , and want to loose weight, you will, the watch is just a counter. Loosing weight is not a gimmick , it's a way of life. Frankly if you want to use tools that help, they are on the iPhone, and the HR is poor on the AW anyway

Great, another puff interview where Cook pontificates with abandon about "his" company which is effectively coasting on its founder's reputation. So tired of this incessant cycle of empty platitudes and stale product shelves. #imissSteve

I guarantee they are.
Been behind the scenes for on air interviews and they def get talking points and questions to ask and not ask. If you deter you get black listed. Have to play ball to get these interviews again.

I hate Steve Jobs comparisons generally, but I feel compelled to ask... think SJ would give Jim $$$$ing Cramer 5 seconds? Nah.

It does make you wonder: While Tim is doing X Y and Z around the world, who is running Apple?

spending tens of billion in china and india in real employment and one billion in the US

well done Tim, go to your liberal media and tell them that

I keep seeing the word "liberal" thrown around like it's a bad thing.

"willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas."

"favourable to or respectful of individual rights and freedoms."

"(in a political context) favouring individual liberty, free trade, and moderate political and social reform."

Those all seem like very good qualities.

Nice! Sounds to me like Tim Cook is introducing more jobs to the USA than our own President is. If our own government proves incapable of improving our nation, at least Apple's there to make waves for them.

H1B scabs will probably take 50% of the jobs at half the rate an American worker would consider acceptable.

I'm sure this is good..but people are expecting innovation and pathbreaking technological products from Apple. Hope there are some pretty soon
