$2500 for 32GB iSee.

$3500 for 128GB iSee More.

$4500 for 256GB iSee Usable.
Where are you getting this pricing?

Apple has only hinted the product is in development, no announcement of any kind has been made as to what exactly they are working on, and no specs of any of its components are known, let alone what the pricing will be.

Also IF this is a fully capable standalone headset with a high resolution display they it could actually a bargain at these prices. A pro level HTC Vive VR heasdset with can cost over $1400 and that does not include the VR capable computer one needs to drive the real AAA titles and fully immersive experiences, which would run at least an additional $2000. If Apple is able to make their headset powerful enough to run full projects self contained in a comfortable wear high resolution headset without being tethered to computer, it could be a game changer.

This headset was completed months ago. However, they keep teasing it in order to scour the blogosphere for any idea what the hell to use it for.
How do you know it was 'completed' have you seen it? Has it been launched and released?

At the moment, he’s ahead of the game. Has had products for years, a new one coming soon and described a vision of his metaverse… like it or not, more than Apple has done this far… and no, please, no comparison to iPhone.
Meta's hardware is lousy and the company's privacy policies are atrocious. Apple is way ahead on AR even if a product is yet to be announced.

We've been experiencing this with IR autofocus for the past 20 years too. So while LiDAR should be an improvement, you're not describing anything new either.
The LiDAR sensor often gets in the way of taking acceptable photos. If the intended subject is behind a window (such as through a car or plane window), the phone frequently gets totally confused about where to focus and seemingly tries to focus on the glass. Many photos have been missed due to this.
Sorry if you miss the photo, this is more a case of you not knowing how to use the gear. Any photographer worth calling themselves a photographer knows their own gear, they will test it and know exactly what it can and cannot do. As others have commented, autofocus systems with various technologies have been around for decades and any good photographer knows when they work and how to adjust when they do not.

Your argument is inane. I'm a "photographer" by virtue of just snapping photos. Billions of people are today "photographers" due to the prevalence of smartphones. And if anyone wants--including professional photographers--they can use a 3rd party app that allows focus to be set manually, even if that too takes valuable time that risks losing the shot. I choose to use Apple's generic Camera app in most cases.

Does anyone here actually have any faith in Facebook’s vision and execution where it comes to AR / VR?

here on MR?most likely no-one, if you look out in the world, be it Wall Street, be it the "Big 5" consulting firms, they are all pushing for the "metaverse".
People here are having faith in Apple not knowing anything about their plans/products ...

Me personally, this whole meters/AR/VR turns me off as a consumer in my day-to-day life, I see lots of use cases in business (not "Video conferencing"), most of them are niche cases (eg remote troubleshooting, learning and such), and solutions have been around for almost 20 years with no real progress made. But for a consumer, no thank you.

CEO Tim Cook this week did an interview with China Daily, where he once again commented on on the future of augmented reality and hinted at Apple's work on an AR/VR headset.

Cook said that Apple is excited about the opportunities available with augmented reality, which is not too far off from prior comments that he's made, but he went on to say that people should "stay tuned" to see what Apple has to offer.Though Apple has not confirmed its work on an AR/VR wearable device, rumors have been circulating about it for years now. Apple's headset is expected to offer mixed reality technology, with a curved visor and soft mesh that fits against the face. It will be lighter than other headsets on the market, and will use an Apple Watch-like strap to hold it in place.

The headset is rumored to feature two 4K micro-OLED displays, 15 camera modules, powerful processors equivalent to the M-series chips, eye tracking capabilities, hand gesture support, and spatial audio. When it launches, the headset could cost somewhere around $3,000.

Apple is expected to debut the headset as soon as next year, and has already been demoing it to board members, suggesting it is getting closer to being finished.

I wonder if the AR/VR headset will be better than anything else on the market. I remember trying on Microsoft version of AR googles that showcased Halo enemies standing in front, side and even behind me that were I 3D and standing 8feet/3 metres tall and pumping music. Totally cool and awesome. Can’t wait to see what Apple brings out.

don't know what FB privacy has to do with this. Fact is, they've developed headsets for a very long time.
You are entitled to your opinion that Apple is way ahead, just you do NOT KNOW anything, all you do is read MR ...

and the headset they developed is really good for 300 bucks and so far dominates in vr content.

A few years ago I nearly shot someone trespassing in a neighbor’s yard at 02:00am playing Pokeman Go. Hopefully, any VR/AR introduced by Apple confines the participants indoors.

why are you shooting at people not in your own property tho?
