And I’m surprised that neither Kuo, Gurman nor Prosser made the list, they certainly had the MR crowd fooled :eek:o_O

Well at least you guys didn’t just single out Prosser for getting the AW leak wrong. Lol.

I looked at the Time link but couldn't discern what is meant by most influential.

Cook has zero bearing on my life. Yes I might buy Apple products but he seems totally cheesy and contrived in everything he does.
David Attenborough - now he is influential. I do look at him and the programs he puts out make me look at nature with wonder.
How does Cook influence? Serious question.

I certainly don't like everything he's brought to the ecosystem, but he's made some solid contributions to the Apple legacy.

No kidding. Who would imagine that the CEO of the world's largest company would be one of the most influential people around?

"Cook's profile was written by Nike co-founder Phil Knight"

So the guy who made a fortune exploiting cheap labor to sell overpriced shoes praises another who did the same thing with tech.

I agree with some others; Tim Cook has been fantastic at pleasing the shareholders, increasing profits, and signaling all-important virtues. But unfortunately, there has been a steady decline with doing all of these great things: less knowledgeable employees, reduced product reliability, and flaky OS software. Sure, we still get the same sexy well-developed devices, but that’s not enough for me anymore.

One important thing. Apple didn't get to have record breaking revenues by not pleasing the customers. That doesn't mean 100% of Apples' customers are pleased on everything. But enough are pleased that Apple grew tremendously under Tim.

As far as the criticisms sure, Apple isn't perfect, but it seems in spite of the criticisms Apple still grew.

As far as "virtue signalling", virtue signalling about looking good, not doing good. Apple puts its' money where it's mouth is, even if some don't agree 100% with what Apple is doing or their policies.
