I didn’t say all 8 owners would upgrade, but I can see a lot of people upgrading to the 12
Especially with AT&T giving $800 credit to trade in an 8 or newer. That’s the only reason I traded my wife’s in. They are also the only carrier allowing that deal with upgrades and not just new lines. They are finally rewarding people for staying with them for once.

What happened to the unequivocal "super cycle" that analysts were forecasting? This seems like a rather lukewarm public statement from Tim.
Analysts usually talk a lot of bs about Apple. Either it's doomsday stories or super hyper cycle stuff. Most of it is market manipulation.
Apple is speaking of "super cycles" after the fact, if at all, when they have the numbers. Like they should.

Aside the from the promising iPhone 12 sales, is it just me or does a deep (eggplant) purple iPhone with a red Apple logo on the back look fantastic?

(I know it's the reflections of the last phone on the preview pic to this piece but still...)

Quite good = not great. Im still on a Max S phone and have no plans to upgrade this year. Maybe if there wasnt a pandemic and I could actually go places I’d consider but we got at least 8 more months of this garbage.

Edit- actually nvm, it looks like Tim just prefers to use the word good after seeing some of his statements from previous years...either way I’ll wait another year

Apple Q4 managed to report a great revenue number $64.7B

The big thing when you compare last year (YOY) is last year, they had revenues from iPhone! Not this year! AND they still did good revenue - basically flat if you try to compare YOY.

Year over Year comparisons will be difficult, but guess what? Apple is doing very good! Look for some monster quarterly numbers coming up from Apple. :). Unreal they can do this during the Pandemic too - I think people are preferring to spend their money on Apple stuff.

Actually my work phone is an 8 and I will not be upgrading that either, so I guess you are wrong! lol

If we assume an average selling price of $600 for iPhones, that means about 44 million iPhones sold the previous quarter. If the ASP is $700 we get about 38 million iPhones.

Consering that most of them are not switching from Android, there are a lot of people upgrading their phone even though non of the iPhone 12s were available.
