Well hold on, you're forgetting the only thing that matters. Those "communists" over there have a lower labor cost (gee, wonder why that is) meaning Tim can improve his margin by making his stuff there.

Ethics don't matter. Profit does. This is the unfortunate way of the world.
Is “Tim” the only person that outsources manufacturing? Or does, let’s see, the world use Chinese resources to manufacture products.

This is an Apple-centric forum on an Apple-centric website. Tim is the face of the only relevant party.

Besides, other people using near-slave labor does not make it ok for Tim to use near-slave labor.

But also Apple is not alone in this. No matter what posters here think, this is much bigger than a breadbox.

Playing with words (weasel words ) Either the factory is or isn’t. And if it isn’t, it is okay for Tim to do what he does.

He should consider investing in the US, which he likely won't or can't.

Apple has been investing in the US. However, as a place to build factories, the US is terrible compared to many other countries. We have multiple layers of bureaucracy which means factories that can be built in months overseas take years in the US. And our labor force is not willing to migrate on a massive level to staff those factories. And a not-insignificant amount of the parts supply chain are literally "mom and pop" places that work out of their apartments/houses located near the factories and deliver the components in a "just in time" process due to their proximity to the factories.

I guess Tim giving Trump the goldwhatever was to mitigate any blowback from the Oval Office about Apple pouring more money into China.

He also donated a million dollarinos to the inauguration.

Mind you Apple has invested an amount exceeding five times the inflation-adjusted value of the Marshall Plan in China. You know, the plan to rebuild Europe after WWII.

No, but it's not really Apple's problem to fix. It's a problem 30+ years in the making since Clinton signed NAFTA and whatever policy it was that allowed China to ship us stuff for really cheap. That may have started with Regan back in the 80's?

Imagine only being able to source 1000 screws a day, and only 20 people in America are able to make them.

Edit: Changed 20+ to 30+ because time is hard and I'm older than I thought.
Actually, contrary to common folklore, NAFTA was started under George HW Bush’s presidency. Clinton just signed the finished document Bush and Co. started. Too many wheels and cogs were in motion to just stop it.
Granted, that version of the story is not as sexy and explosive.

After the signing of the Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement in 1988, the administrations of U.S. president George H. W. Bush, Mexican president Carlos Salinas de Gortari, and Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney agreed to negotiate what became NAFTA.

You support China in a global market right? If so, then you support their forced labor practices across their country.
More putting words in someone else's mouth? Using shaming and false attribution to support a position paints a very unflattering picture and shows the position is weak and inapplicable.

MCGA!!! Remember in 2021 the world found out that Apple had invested over 275 billion in China to gain access to their markets. Giving them cash, tech and building iCloud data centers and giving the CCP encryption keys. Apple Privacy at its best.

Meanwhile other big players like Microsoft are pulling out of China for their hardware manufacturing.

China Tim needs to go. Apple is stale and boring. They have no AI play. They are bleeding talent.

Oh, one of those wonderful situations where the Republicans can claim they never signed it into law, and the Democrats can claim they only dotted the I's and crossed the T's for something they had nothing to do with. At least both parties can agree that it's neither of their fault. I absolutely love when our 2 party system can work together like this.

/s, in case it wasn't apparent.

Hah! There ya go! You get it, now. Indeed, it’s amazing stuff.

For real, tho, I get your meaning and yeah I do agree with the sentiment. Both sides do play that same card. It’s annoying no matter who or how it’s played.

R.E.M. even referenced that sentiment (no one taking responsibility) in their song “Bad Day”:

The lights went out, the oil ran dry,
We blamed it on the other guy
