It's going to be even more hellish when they discover that Microsoft and Google are huge supporters of equality too. They're going to have to use tin cans and string for a phone.

Maybe someone will patent BigotPhone or something. You read it here first. I plan to sue if they steal that name. ;)

Normal is where how majority behave. Sex is betweenness and women. Marriage is betweenan and woman. If we cold tolerate homosexual, are we gonna tolerate sex between human and animal? How about human and objects?

You need to update your knowledge on the definition of "marriage".

In many countries, including the US, "Marriage" is NOT between man and woman exclusively.

Just trying to help so that you don't make a fool of yourself in future discussions.

(My bold)

It's probably because you think being gay is a 'lifestyle', rather than an inherent trait.

Has science identified a gay gene? Is it passed on the paternal or maternal RNA? Or are you just CREATING science to fit your personal belief system?

(I know the answer to that last question)

No, not gay.

I thought I recalled reading that he was married. Nice story!

No one cares about who Tim puts his genitals into either.

I have to ask, why are you obsessed with genitals? More specifically, Tim Cook's and what he does with them? You claim to not care and are clear about where you don't want to see genitals placed, yet the irony is if you truly didn't care you wouldn't be posting on this subject, especially posts that detail where one man places his genitals.

But now you're doing just what you claim to condemn. You can't tell someone not to label you.

Then when they label you because it's their own belief,

Turn around and label them something negative.

It's just they way they want to live their life. Be tolerant of it and move on.

This is coming from someone that's been labeled a WHOLE LOTTA things in his lifetime by varying degrees of persons.

Yes, it sucks that we have to put up with such nonsense, but that is the world we live in.

What an irrational response. You've been labeled a "WHOLE LOTTA" things, and you imply that you don't like this, but you advocate labelling? Ridiculous.

No they came around to my side on almost everything including religion. My parents are still straight though.

Hey, mine too, But now they've come around and even realized having a gay son is beneficial on many levels...

It affects more than the bedroom. Every day I'm in situations where people assume that I have a wife when I say that I'm married or they ask about my family. When they stop making those assumptions, it won't be necessary for me to mention that I'm gay. Thanks for your attention.

You have to make assumptions. It's human behavior. It's how we've survived for so long.

I've met people who say they are married too... and find out later that their spouse died some years ago. I assumed that their spouse was still alive.

Wow. You were able to glean all that from a few sentences on a website? You know nothing about me and you proved it in your silly and uniformed post.

Don't even sweat it. I don't agree with everything you say, but I have also dealt with putting a viewpoint out there, and having all sorts of assumptions about me.

So far, on Macrumors, I've been everything from a Gay Racist 12 year old bigot to a Bible thumping sun worshiping ISIS militant.

I wish atheists wouldn't use you as a representation of every other religious person....

But sadly thats not the case.

Any atheist that does is doing ATHEISM wrong.

Now, if this is not your case, good for you.

All well and good, but not every religious person reads the same book or takes the same ideas and notions from the book they claim to believe.

Even in Europe not everyone that claimed to be a Christian was stupid enough to believe that the Earth was the center of the universe. That area was coming out of the dark ages of knowledge and thought right after much of the world had already spent 1000 years in a cultural renaissance.

It just hurts to hear that same old slight against anyone that has any mote of faith whatsoever used time and time again like it was universally the case.

It's really just about as silly as being "conditioned" to be gay.

No hard feeling though bro. I'm just saying. Besides, there's plenty of other factual things to attack religious people with.

What a disgusting thing to say. It's okay for him to be gay as long as he's alone? You're really a terrible person.

That's the standard fundie line. Right up there with "hate the sin, love the sinner."

Which may work for, oh, MURDER. But, it's weak when discussing someone's sexual orientation.

That's a direct insult to God! Implying that God made a mistake I don't think so. He has a choice and so does everyone else. If you ever read the bible you would know God created us with the specific power of choice.

Why does your "god" have any relevance to this topic? There are plenty of people that do well without him or they believe in another "god", "unicorn" or whatever. I think it's pretty crazy to assume that your own personal "god" should have any effect whatsoever on anyone else.

Why stop at the gender? You can go on mentioning your partners height, weight, ethinicty and color of her/his eyes since they are all also assuming about those parameters too

Nope. You get what you give. That's the bottom line. You give out negative vibes. You get negative vibes back from people.

You are responsible for the way people react to your beliefs and your behavior.

So you believe in tolerance until you meet someone who has a different opinion than you? That's not tolerance.

In fact, Its kinda gay.

Guess what. Gay people hear about straight people's sexuality everyday. You don't see us getting upset at straight people for being themselves.

Because being straight is in line with Gods laws and the laws of nature. A man and a woman to get together to procreate society continue

Not at all, and not what I meant. I meant that it's in a gay person's genes (or, more accurately, the expression of those genes) and not a 'lifetsyle'. Apologies if this caused confusion.

Alex

ok... though I wouldn't say it's in the genes though. Pretty sure you can't pass one's homosexuality onto the offspring through your genetic DNA structure.

He may not be trolling. I have found that many of my personal beliefs have been met with intolerance. I personally am not a fan of the gay lifestyle. I do not believe that something is beneficial of right Nu st because that thing is permissible.

I believe that no person should be discriminated against and that we all have the right to choose our own paths. I do not think I should be discriminated against or looked down upon because I do not approve of a certain lifestyle.

I also don't generally hear anyone complain about a lack of tolerance when republicans (I'm an independent) are being demonized in the press or by late night pontificators. I have found that those who preach tolerance do not usually dispense it evenly amongst all people.

That is because the "intolerance" you talk of being directed towards republicans is usually as a result of their intolerance. Being criticised for bigoted views is not intolerance. Denying someone rights for and aspect of their being they have no control over is intolerance.

Also you say "beliefs". Being gay is not a belief. The only people who think it is a belief are the people who aren't gay.
