I have to ask, why are you obsessed with genitals? More specifically, Tim Cook's and what he does with them? You claim to not care and are clear about where you don't want to see genitals placed, yet the irony is if you truly didn't care you wouldn't be posting on this subject, especially posts that detail where one man places his genitals.

Because that's what this all boils down to. And I don't care. I would have rather woken up this morning and not seen this at the top of macrumors. I don't think it belongs in the news. But to hear so many talk about other issues is what I am addressing. It's not social policy, tolerance, equality, etc. Its Tims junk and what he does with them. Do you think Tim Cook has any equality issues at all? Do you really think he struggles with discrimination? Come on.

No. We exist due to a series of random event but I understand, its a hard concept to accept. Yes, we are not special and we are meaningless in scope of the universe. That's what make our life precious.
Random events what are they? Why isn't the universe still moving at random?

I believe it was taken away to keep the site postive

Which is a good idea on the surface, but if I can't give someone a thumbs-down I'm much more likely to respond to that person negatively. I'd argue that the thumbs-down prevents some negative posts.

Just let people CHOOSE for themselves. If Cook has this preference, fine. If he wants to talk about it, fine. Some disagree, fine. If you think being gay is a sin, then look at your own life and list your own sins you need to work on and jump all over yourself before jumping on someone else. Respect others' beliefs, no matter how much it hurts your pride or feelings, unless that person is doing real harm by invoking their beliefs (ISIS for example).

You care. An awful lot. If it even affected you enough that you wish you hadn't seen it, you care. An awful lot. If it has affected you enough to respond repeatedly, you care. An awful lot.

That is because the "intolerance" you talk of being directed towards republicans is usually as a result of their intolerance. Being criticised for bigoted views is not intolerance. Denying someone rights for and aspect of their being they have no control over is intolerance.

So being intolerant is wrong, except when it's ok? I thought you people wanted to be taken seriously.

there was an E.L.E event (a meteor) that kill all the dinosaurs (ice age) that allows smaller animal to proliferate. It wouldn't have been possible for human to exist as a species without that event.

That was the actual reason, to steer away from passive-aggressive behavior and have more people comment than simply post a thumbs down and leave. It especially became an issue when some commentators would "gang up" on a particular individual, forcing what could be helpful comments for others down.

Trolling? Do you think this is actually a choice? Please be smarter than that...

Okay yeah, we’re not kind. 50 years though? We’ve got hundreds before the worst-case estimates place the planet near anything that would be considered “uninhabitable.” And honestly, we’re pretty good at adapting to change as a species. I’d be willing to bet that the planet remains “inhabitable” for thousands of years.

The top researchers at the World Bank estimate we have five years before climate change becomes a I reversible. 110 US cities will be submerged under water by 2050

This clearly demonstrates that your lifestyle is not he norm.

It doesn't really matter if you see it as norm or not, it is for me and it's being respected and protected by the institution that is relevant to me - our government which ensures my equal rights.

Right, it's minority's fault that people are racist. It's women's fault that people are sexist. It's gays' fault that people are bigots... Stunning analysis.
This guy was lamenting the fact that people react badly to his stated beliefs. He is responsible for that. There is a context around this discussion about his discriminatory and judgmental disposition around others.

Sorry, I should be more exact. I assumed people were smart enough to realize that context applies and that reading the whole discussion so they have that is probably a prerequisite to commenting about it.

From your avatar it appears you are either ginger or blonde. That is also not normal. Natural, yes, but not normal.

There is nothing wrong with it. Just because you have a different hair colour to most of the world population, doesn't make it wrong, just different.

If you beleive in that sort of silly nonsense

The all new 2014 Tim Cook... the gayest CEO yet.

Who gives a ****... lol, it's 2014, coming out now is like announcing to the world you're straight. Nobody cares!

But!!!

...and this is an important but, if it makes Tim Cook feel good, then I am glad he made it known to the world.

our God is the reason why we all exist today.

If you think you "believe" that, fine. But stop expecting others to live by your own mythological "belief", it appears slightly crazy to do such a thing. I'm sure your "god" is happy with you if you just live by his rules and don't expect others to live by them.

Again, by posting this, you've indicated that you care. I'll never understand why this is a hard concept for people to understand.

Perhaps could have been worse stock-wise. Suppose he had announced he was ‘into’ scatology. :p

What kind of a sicko would make that connection?

Kudos to him for coming out and showing gay teens struggling with their sexuality that you can be yourself and still achieve greatness. Every person of public influence who is honest about their sexuality helps show the world that gay people exist and that it's OKAY and it's NATURAL (which it is -no one CHOOSES to be gay).

People need to use more logic. Why would people actively choose to be gay and give themselves a hard, uncomfortable life? Being gay ISN'T a choice and therefore any argument against it (especially religious) is ridiculous. A lot of people seem to forget that they didn't choose their sexual attractions, they just go with it because they are attracted to the opposite sex. The only people that question that are the people who end up being attracted to the same-sex, because it's not the "majority" or "norm."

What's really a shame, in the U.K. there is an anti-ginger bullying campaign since (sadly) there has been a serious increase in hate crimes (beatings, threats, etc) against "gingers." I thought it was a bad joke, but it isn't. So perhaps he should rethink his bigotry before spouting off.
