I think it’s quite revealing that the media intelligencia keep writing about how “everyone” wants an SE, a non-pro model, a mini. And yet all those offerings suffer mediocre sales and the core product line of Pro and Pro Max continue to sell like always. Apple needs to spend less time satisfying the media “experts” and more time making the products their customers really want.

Not sure what's up but it seems like my 14Pro is worse than my old 11Pro for low light environments … shadow areas just turn black and it looks like I added a contrast effect when I didn't.

I don’t know about the 14 pro max, but 14 pros in all configurations can be found in abundance at Best Buy if someone is looking to purchase one and doesn’t want to wait for Apple. I got mine on a random Tuesday about a month ago.

I guess it's nice that Apple catered to those 10%. ;)

On Sept 12th I ordered the 14 PM/1 TB for me and 14 P/512 for my wife. Both were estimated to be here Oct 24th. She got her's in about two weeks. Oct 24th came and went on mine with no status change on AT&T site. Meh... I got over the initial hype and just cancelled my order. Have a 12 PM and can just wait for the next model.

I ordered mine through Verizon on Thursday with a ship date of November 11, but it ended up shipping two days later and arriving today.

Naturally, the eSim would not activate. First iPhone I’ve had that didn’t immediately activate service after firing it up. And Verizon doesn’t have 24 hour support unless you already have service, and I’m porting a number over, so it’s been a big pain.

But I love the phone itself. Even from a 12 Pro it’s a decent upgrade. Also the first Max phone I’ve had since the 6S Plus, and I guess I underestimated the size, since the 6S still had bezels. But I’m loving the screen real estate, that’s definitely not a complaint.

My guess: last year there were still folks in lockdown who decided to hold out for this year's model. This pent-up demand for this year combined with this summer's China lockdowns squeezing supply chains, together, created these crazy backlogs.

It’s a super duper cycle I guess.

I’m pretty sure next quarter will be another all time record as well - despite all the recession and calamities fears and realities.

I thought iphone 14 sales were down, and the Apple CFO is saying the same. 🤷‍♂️

Dunno if the CFO said that! Don’t think he did say that at all!

And iPhone sales are up 10% this last quarter as compared Year over Year to the same quarter of 2021.

Additionally - iPhone 14 sales vs iPhone 14pro and 14promax is another topic to confuse you. Lots of ways to distort what the truth is!

This is the problem with stock market suits as well - they don’t quite care enough to fully understand what was said. Or they understand how to fool you into thinking what they want you to think.

Actually they should just dump the non-Pro models and consolidate the line. Have the SE in what ever form and then the 6.1" and the 6.7" model with all the whiz bang features. I mean five different models if you count the SE is spreading the line out. They then could lower the prices for the "Pro" model slightly and still make buck.

Please, make it a hint for a iPhone 15 Mini. (It’s okay if you have to switch to iPhone 16 Plus again. Actually, maybe it is not a bad idea to flip-flop every two years).
Alternating between the larger Plus and smaller mini from year to year would actually be a very good idea. Both phones seem to be niche market for Apple compared to the other iPhones, but they could limit production to what’s necessary to meet demand, keeping those who want those iPhones happy.

Next iPhone lineup will have USB-C for all. But 15 and 15plus/mini will be limited to 480mbps like new iPad, 15 pros will have standard USB-C speeds upto 10Gbit/s and iPhone ultra will have upto 40 or 80 Gbits/s

Looks like they underestimated the demand for the "Pro" lineup. If there is less demand for down-specced iPhones, why not just offer the best spec in three display sizes and cover the lower price range with last year's top-specced phones?

Great, this gives apple more incentive to just give a lot to the pro and none to the non-pro models...
All by design. Gimp the base model so that people gravitate toward the higher model for more revenue/profit.

My thoughts exactly.
