People are more interested in the Pro model instead of the non-Pro one.I thought iphone 14 sales were down, and the Apple CFO is saying the same. 🤷♂️

Yep, save $160/mo and pay cash.I am expecting an iPhone Ultra in the next couple of cycles to be the ultimate overkill status symbol phone with a $2k-ish starting price tag, M-series chip and 2TB of storage.
Look humongous red.........I can hardly look apple watch in red. But 6.7in Promax MY EYES!People also want the Product Red iPhone Pro Max.
I guess it's nice that Apple catered to those 10%.
My guess: last year there were still folks in lockdown who decided to hold out for this year's model. This pent-up demand for this year combined with this summer's China lockdowns squeezing supply chains, together, created these crazy backlogs.

Alternating between the larger Plus and smaller mini from year to year would actually be a very good idea. Both phones seem to be niche market for Apple compared to the other iPhones, but they could limit production to what’s necessary to meet demand, keeping those who want those iPhones happy. Please, make it a hint for a iPhone 15 Mini. (It’s okay if you have to switch to iPhone 16 Plus again. Actually, maybe it is not a bad idea to flip-flop every two years).
All by design. Gimp the base model so that people gravitate toward the higher model for more revenue/profit.
