As the Apple chips get better and better, more chip engineers will get better offers. Its the nature of the business. With them leaving, this may move someone better into that position just waiting for an opportunity.

Perhaps "nationalistic" or "jingoistic" would be a better term to use.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kim speaks better English than you. Just like some Mr. Patel from India might speak better English than you, as well. In fact, Mr. Nadella from Microsoft is from India and speaks better English than you.

That’s an ignorant reply. I said nothing about his English and I am that multilingual Asian you use as examples in your amazing reply.
Imagine being so good at your job and expertise that the internet reports your leaving one company and going to another as a big deal. It’s not quite the fame of pro athletes but it’s amazing. I am completely replaceable but these world class genius engineers are not and so companies fight over them.
His education is in computer science not electrical engineering. He isn’t the critical person in determining Apple’s detailed chip layout designs. Those engineers eat and breathe chip layout every day of their lives. He is the manager.
That is a thoughtless take. All employees don’t do the same thing. How important is this employee to Apple’s Silicon project? That’s the important question
