And yet Exynos will remain light years behind the A-series. I’ll only be nervous if someone picks up Sroujie. Luckily I don’t think he’s interested in leaving.

Mostly, I'm not sure why every engineer leaving Apple is headline news.

That aside-- I'm in favor of anything that might give TSMC a worthy competitor. If he was a circuit designer, I'd consider it a bit of a waste, but it seems he's more on the process side. I like my Apple products to have the best possible engineering, but I also worry about a semiconductor monoculture. It seems the world players are TSMC, Intel and Samsung. We've seen Intel stumble recently. Samsung seems a step or two behind TSMC. That leaves one game in town, and if TSMC trips up then everything stalls while we wait for a breakthrough. In that environment, I'm fine with Samsung poaching who they need to catch up and stay abreast.

And how many chip experts?
I don't know, you'd need to check with that guy here who thinks you can't be called a chip expert if you're a manager. Even though the chip expert in question here, just became a manager at Samsung. Guess he no longer is a chip expert.

Fascinating: Employee changes job.
In other news: the sky is blue.
Pretty much.Without wishing to disparage this person, I can find no patents to his name, suggesting that he's an exec, not an engineer. And while execs have their uses, there's no obvious reason why he should be indispensable.

And there’s a chip expert that worked at Samsung for 9 years that joined Apple. Big deal. This is how know how gets around.

He's a packaging engineer, not a cafeteria worker. He's busy designing better cellophane and making sure the Arm chips don't settle during shipment.
That's not what "packaging" means in this context. The package is the container that holds the die. It impacts cooling and device longevity, among other things.

not only using an iPhone with one of their components but Samsung is used in a lot of products (obviously). I get if someone wants to be an Apple Fanboy that's their life but it's quite pathetic and if you try avoid using any Samsung product then that's gonna take a lot of effort. It's sad honestly how some people are.
Very sad indeed. You’d think with Google at our fingertips, folks would be more knowledgeable but I guess not. One thing I will also say about Samsung, they make good TVs.

Eh, my 2004 Samsung DLP TV model was the subject of a class action lawsuit due to mirrors using insufficient strength glue, and falling so the top portion of the screen no longer had an image.

Many of Their 2016+ TVs are good bro. Obviously if you don’t like them you can go with LG, Sony or whoever else. But even Sony uses Samsung Displays in some of its newer TVs.

I'll choose to read this as a commentary on my humor rather than my intelligence...
I admit, I had to scratch my head when you mentioned cellophane 😂. Everyone knows Apple package there chips in recycled paper.

Johny Srouji on more than one occasion has said Apple was not a chip company. With so many chip experts leaving, could Apple be planning on leaving chip design and leaving it to others and just buy them once again?

Yeah I have an LG CX OLED as it pairs perfectly with my PS5 and can do 120Hz refresh rates thanks to HDMI 2.1 compatibility.
