Is this an Apple clear case or 3rd party?
Apple, they all yellow and age with time. I’m sure colored plastic and leather does also but it’s harder to see. With leather it actually looks nice. It’s just a visual thing but it’s pretty gross with clear plastic/rubber.

Are you sure those are apple cases?

Yes, you can also google original apple iPhone cases yellowing or watch a YouTube video. There is no magic clear plastic that isn’t going to yellow, scratch, show fingerprints, or emphasize how much food you eat. Doesn’t matter if it’s made by apple or alibaba

Well, Apple clear cases do not do that, in my experience. The TPU clear cases though, are disgusting.

The control buttons make me question whether those are actually Apple clear cases, the larger one is definitely not, and I don’t recall Apple ever making clear cases for 5/5S/SE.

And here is a photo just taken of an 8 year old iPhone 5 case that logged over 100,000 travel miles and was carried daily for years (I used a Japanese sim in the phone for travel to Japan 6x/year). That’s a Power Support clear case, made of polycarbonate- same material as in the Apple case. Illumination is a white Surefire tactical light.

Zero yellowing.

Well having my clear case on the 11 now for about half a year. In theory, and when the phone is new it is very nice.

But 2 corners have quite visible cracks already, probably from falling a couple times and from removing the phone. Also, the material is rather prone to scratches and a lot of dust accumulates under the "lip" around the screen and in the corners.

I still like that you actually see the phone's design and the quality is probably better than other clear cases.

Yet, I think the leather cases are actually the best value of all cases Apple is producing. Looks far superior to a silicon case and does not degrade as fast as the clear case.

I'd have to disagree. The leather Apple used this year is paper thin to allow a thicker case underneath to house the magsafe hardware. From what's being posted in the leather case patina proud thread, they're definitely not aging like the leather cases of years past.

The silicone, on the other hand, feels incredible. They really knocked it out of the park with the color choices this season as well. The fit is perfect and far more comfortable on the little finger shelf than any other case I've tried. On top of all that, the cutouts for the speaker/mic are about as precise as I've seen on any case.

Has anyone successfully exchanged an Apple clear case for a new one because of the stress fractures at the bottom?
I’ve heard that Apple regularly replaces silicone cases that have started peeling or breaking at the bottom corners.

Crack in corner showed up in less than a month. Top right of case. Not something I would expect for a case at this price. Seeing another crack beginning to form in the left bottom corner as well. I like that it doesn’t yellow though.

Here is the (genuine) Clear Case i used on my 11 Pro Max between September 2019 and November 2020 when I sold it.

It did not yellow with time (or yellowed just a bit, whereas a regular case would be all yellow within 3 months).

It is cracked in all four corners from falling on sidewalks etc, it did fall a lot. But it protected my iPhone, it was pristine after a year.

Kinda worth it, I guess - not having to replace it every few months.

has anyone used this case on the phone for a long while and seen if it causes scratches with dust and debris collecting on the inner lip?

Do you have to regularly take it off and clean it?

Stay far away from the apple clear case if you are getting a Pro, the hard plastic will scratch your frame.

I recommend the spigen magsafe instead or apple leather/silicone cases

really? Just with silver or speaking from experience?

Sorry, im my case (No pun intended) I was using the silver stainless.

If you have any urge to swap case colors for fun or function in and out of this clear case it will scratch the stainless band.

You're referring to swapping cases often will result in scratches, with Pacific Blue 12 Pro as well?

I don't have issues swapping cases with soft clear cases or the apple cases mentioned above. The clear apple case bites into the frame.

Unsure about the pacific blue but i'd imagine eventually it would occur

yikes this is concerning. It hasn’t so far the 3 or so times I’ve taken it off

Hard rigid plastic, meet stainless steel w/ or w/o coating.

It's just a matter of time my friend.. I actually switched to a 12 last year w/ aluminum frame and it held up with the apple clear case.

what about leaving it on for a long while?

Also have the cracks in edges and the camera bezel in one edge 😭 that makes this 1200+€ setup look like trash.
Also the white mag safe parts got grey in some areas.
