You can pre-sign but it is up to the driver to leave it or not. Think about it this way. Unless you have a lockbox or secret location where the UPS guy can place it, you are leaving a $1k phone outside, unprotected...

In hopes of getting my iPhone in the morning tomorrow, I have just requested for UPS to hold the package at their CC.

Now it's just a matter of luck, and whether I am able to get it tomorrow or not. Fingers crossed.
