I think the largest iPhone is usually the “least“ popular. I think the 7 & 7 Plus was close due to Portrait mode being exclusive to the Plus model. Anyway, I am not surprised that the 12 Pro Max availability is decent. I think Apples cheapest, non-pro, “flagship” model will always be the best seller.
It probably didn't hurt that Apple had 3 weeks of extra time to produce Max models this year.

Looking forward to leaving my front door open next Friday (I have a security / screen door) so I can leap for the door at the sound of every truck on the street.

AZ was 99 degrees yesterday but finally with a cooldown next week an open door is a possibility. That UPS driver won't be able to drop a "we missed you slip" and run, muahaha!

It’s also very fascinating how iPhone gets travelled from China to your home local destination.

It’s fun to track the iPhone. Knowing the time, the flight information, different type of scans, when it gets released through the customs or when it gets a release authorization from the government✍️ and so much more...

It’s very hard to explain. You pretty much have to order the phone yourself to experience the journey. People have been doing it for years.

There is a reason there are over 13,000 posts with over 500 pages. We’re not here to waste anyone’s time but to share the excitement and the journey together.

Not fun when you don't see progress for a few days. Then exceptions. Then notices about late/missed planes. Estimated days go to the following Tuesday. Yet it arrived on the day APple estimated for me (today). And got it configured and service transferred before I left town for the weekend.

I think part of it is the anticipation that it won't arrive on-time, in this case the 13th...
Starting around Tuesday/Wednesday of next week, everyone will be checking their order status...And will post here that my phone won't arrive on the 13th! It's still sitting in China...no way it will get here on-time!!
And by the magic of UPS/Fed-Ex and Apple, magically, their phones will go from China Wednesday/Thursday and be out for delivery on Friday! Because of this, everyone starts tracking flights and stuff, because they still can't believe it will arrive on-time...haha
Maybe next week you won't have some people thinking Wednesday delivery because the initial UPS delivery estimates say early. COVID! changes everything. Then still held until the delivery day promised.

Say it again! I'm free of carrier shenanigans with credits spread over 24 months! I'm going to get my number moved to the eSIM and be ready for international travel again!
Depending on carrier, you may be able to move the plan from eSIM to eSIM without calling in. I backed up my 11 to my computer, keeping it at 14.1 so that wouldn't be an issue. Restored from backup on the 12 Pro. Followed prompts to activate the phone. Had a few moments of stress when the new phone just showed 4G, and data didn't work. Airplane mode. Then voice worked. Then data. Then a test in a market without 5G and got 179mb/sec down on a speed test.

Wouldn’t it be great if Apple said “you know, the world has had such a rough year, let’s let them have their iPhones a couple of days early.” Yeah, I know, I’m living in a fantasy world. 🤷‍♀️
Such a wishful thinking! But Apple would never do that. They don’t play games.

WOW !!

Its has been 4 hours since pre-order went live and most color and model still showing Deliver / Pick Up on release date .

This year , the Max model isnt popular like the regular Pro . Pro model still showing deliver at Dec , but ProMax still on deliver date . Last month most Pro was slip out deliver date within 5 mins .

First time ever seeing the Max model getting slow selling like this , on previous years ago , all Max / Pro or whatever big screen was sold out within 5 mins , but not this year !
Don't know if it is poor selling, or if inventory available is higher.

So who else here is wondering how the Pro Maxes are still available for 11/13 delivery? Did Apple overestimate how many would sell, or think they just turned up the production a notch and just had a glut of them leading up to the presale?
I would guess this last. Apple will want phones available in retail for Black Friday.

I think the reason is that Apple had those extra few weeks between model launches with the staggered release dates and were able to ramp up production so there would be more PM and Mini models available for today. 😎
I can see the Mini being a popular impulse purchase by people at carrier stores. Lower price, 5G.

Placed an order for iPhone 12 Mini 64GB in white today at 13:30 - UK. Order is now in processing stage however I have just noticed the delivery address is incorrect.
Will it be possible to amend this with Apple or the delivery partner?
Not via UPS at least. You could try before shipping with Apple. One person pages back forgot to update his address, and had moved out of state. Couldn't do anything about it, and tracked it to where it was dropped off at his old address. I don't recall whether it was ever resolved.

Most people have excess funds in 2020.
It is variable. From what I've read, some people were getting more money than normal due to higher than normal unemployment payments, and likely cut back on expenses (I didn't have a vacation this year, but kept my job). Obviously, many people had less money, living off of savings if they had savings.
My monthly cell phone bill is lower now than it was last February before this all hit, which helps pay for my monthly installment payment.
