I only do it because I’m not sure I’m smart enough to start over? I could do iCloud bbut that confuses me too.. what *is* the best way? I remember being scared last year, not knowing what to pick

I love updating from a backup on my iMac. Everything is there perfectly. 30 minutes. My daughter updated my “old” XS Max from her iCloud backup. Took about 15 minutes. I put our current Sim Cards into our new phones. I had a few issues repairing/ restoring my Apple Watch from my backup but i did a reset of the phone and watch and now everything is great!

My gold 256GB Max and wife wanted Blue 256GB Max came today. I had a suspicion my wife was going to like the gold bling more, she did, and now, I am blue...Coming from a X, this thing is so much bigger and heavier, but so noticeable faster.

I went ahead and setup the 12 by copying the 11. It was really fast, like magic, can’t even tell which phone I’m on without looking. I did have to setup my Apple Pay but is there anything else that needs attention or changing? Guess I’ll google that.
I hope those still waiting get their phones soon.. I’m anxious to try the camera!

I LOVE the Case Mate cases this year. Clear with bling looks super good on the Gold iPhones!I have the Karat Crystals on my Gold phone now and I have the Gold Twinkle Ombré to use too. I finally got mine! I kept looking out for the UPS truck but oddly mine was delivered by a UPS person driving their personal car!

Now the dilemma....do I activate it and start the phone from scratch or do I back up from my previous iPhone??? I know it's personal so I have to decide. 😕

I started from scratch and just re-download the apps I wanted on this phone.

My daughter said she’s over it and do want to go back but she’s high risk to catching COVID and I’m scared for her return to a classroom.

Yesterday, my graphite 128GB iPhone 12 Pro Max arrived at about 6PM. I can’t find anything wrong with it. The screen is perfect and much nicer than my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I’m on the Apple Upgrade Program, so I have a few days to really compare the two phones before I have to return the 11 PM when the trade-in kit arrives.

I bought a Spigen Liquid Air case and it fits perfectly. I usually get the Apple silicone case but $12.99 sounded a lot better than a $50 Apple case that gets back corner wear almost immediately.

Never waited this long on UPS before. Will leave at facility going forward.

Picking mine up at the CC sealed the deal for me to do that every year now. It was so quick and there’s no telling what time UPS would deliver to my house.

Finally caught up! Congratulations to everyone who has received their new iPhones so far! West Coast hang in there - they’re coming! It’s barely afternoon there. I’m pulling for you all.

I‘m all set up, so here’s some of my thoughts:

- Definitely prefer the grip on this. A surer hold with no fear of losing it. I feel like I don’t need a case, but I will add one anyway.
- That said, watch your hard cases. I have the tiniest rub, and I mean really, really tiny, from having a hard time removing a case I was trying on. Don’t think this coating will be friendly to frequent case removal or any case that has a hard edge. It’s the downside of flat edges. Be vigilant Pacific Blue owners. If it’s too difficult to put on, you may not want to bother.

Love it so far! No complaints at all!

That’s one of the reasons why I searched for a case with a hard back and TPU sides.

My sister is happy about not having to go to school anymore but she's not doing well in virtual learning at all. She's getting her first failing grades after being on the honor roll for years. The way her school does virtual lessons is kind of stupid- they don't hold daily zoom sessions, they just set a time requirement for how long students need to be logged in and working on the assignments. It's sort of a "read the chapter and answer the questions at the end" deal, and with her ADHD she's really struggling to focus on her work without any actual teaching or structure to speak of. No way is she going back to onsite classes so we're just doing our best to deal with things for now, thankfully she graduates next year. I really can't wait till life goes back to normal for everyone :/

Well after waiting all day yesterday UPS finally showed up at 7 pm. Set up was delayed a bit due to having to update to 14.2 before I could restore from my MBP. Overall the 12 Pro Max is amazing! I hope everyone enjoys their new toys and hopefully we will be getting together next September for the next launch!!!

Anyone else get theirs delayed due to “clearing customs”?

In UT and my wife’s and mother-in-laws 12 Mini both arrived Friday on time, but for some reason my 12 Pro Max was delayed.

According to UPS website it says “cleared customs” yet package is located in SLC (20 min from me)! Their response is “it takes 1-2 business days to clear so likely Monday or Tuesday” 😑🤔

She’s a beauty! Finally finished setting everything up. Feels about the same as my XS Max. No problem activating it with the pre-installed SIM from AT&T. I’m so happy, but at the same time kinda sad because I know this thread will be dying until next fall. It’s been a real blast hanging out with everyone!

I’ll definitely be back. I already started putting money aside for next year’s iPhone, but I think I’m going to either sell this one or trade it in, if Apple offer a good deal.

How is everyone’s battery doing?

I haven’t had a chance to really test it out, but so far it’s doing better than my XS Max. I’m still trying to decide which apps I’m going to re-download again and sign back into them. My jailbroken XS Max is still on 13.5, so I just re-downloaded my calls, texts, emails, contacts and other important things from iCloud and started off fresh for everything else.

Can I also add that I LOVE it that Apple decided to protect the bottom of the phone with their cases this year? About time.

I ended up sending my Pink Citrus silicon case back to Apple and reordered it on Amazon with a longer return time (1/31/21). I’m hoping I will like the case. I’m looking more for thin cases now vs bulk. The price isn’t even an issue for me.

I opened it, looked at it, then took it in the bathroom (better light and I've heard a steamy atmosphere helps cut down on dust in the air) and applied the screen protector. When I finished that, it went in the case. Only then did I even turn it on. 🙂

Third phone in a row where I've not touched the screen. I did that with my X and when I traded it the guy was impressed with how nice the screen was. Of course it was. It had literally never been touched! I went through multiple screen protectors because I'm a klutz, but I'd just take it back to the mall, drop it off with Zagg, eat lunch, then pick up phone.

I refuse to use mine without a case and screen protector.

That sucks and is stupid. Is this just a sprint thing? I should be able to just pop my sim in and go.

I just popped my Verizon sim in my sim free pro Max, and of course I got the text that I needed to update my SIM card, which I’ll stop by Verizon today to do.
