I ordered the same thing 12 minutes later and am in the same stage of shipment. The devices are probably stateside already.
 
Just got my "prepare for shipment" last night after 9:00 p.m. eastern time :). I was very happy :). (In Cleveland, Ohio and ordered the 128 gb rose gold 6S)
 
I am keeping an eye on this flight:

Reason being that in order for a plane to leave ZhengZhou, one has to go there first. Since UPS doesn't do a regular run to ZhengZhou, it has to be one that doesn't do a regular route. This one doesn't. It's due to land in Hong Kong, it would be very easy to go from there to ZhengZhou and then to Incheon to get the ZhengZhou phone's into UPS's normal flow.

Yeah.. I'm guessing its a time of update discrepancy. The only real way to know for sure is see if there is an arrival scan in Anchorage around when the flight lands (in about 4 hours)

You're fine. Once the phone is in transit to you the exception will clear and you'll get your phone when you're supposed to.
 
Last night around 5 or 6PM, my order popped to "Preparing for Shipment" and just a bit ago (i'm traveling in Central time this week); the serial number was added to my support profile!

Still no UPS track by reference number and still no shipping info in my apple.com order; but whatever..its progress. I am in Oregon, USA; having mine shipped to a private mailbox company that I am basically forced to use because I travel for work so much that I end up missing mail and packages otherwise. Unf. as this is a commercial address: I am unable to sign up for UPS MyChoice

I guess that depends on your final destination. I've had phones go from Anchorage to Indianapolis to get to Cleveland (where I am) before without ever going to Louisville
