On Flightaware I'm seeing a UPS departure from Louisville Intl at 4:15pm scheduled for delivery at 6:26pm at Orlando Intl, maybe both our phones are on that flight and the UPS info was slow to update?
Thanks yeah i see that one now. I might be on UPS2404 going to jax. I am in jax fla.

This may be the wrong place to ask...but figure it's worth a try. I already have an active Verizon line on month-to-month plan. Can I just swap the SIM card from my 5S into the 6S when it arrives and be good to go? Or am I going to have to go through Verizon to get the new phone activated?

Louisville, KY, United States 09/24/2015 14:50 Departure Scan

Mine left louisville, needs to go to vancouver, canada but i don't see any flights, anyone have any idea what flight this is on?

Edit: assuming its this as ups has regular flights/trucks from seattle to vancouver: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS2430/history/20150924/1845Z/KSDF/KBFI

Mine also have the 14:50 departure scan, with their last stop in Seattle. I'm guessing our phones are plane buddies.

How to find flights on flightaware.
  1. Go to flightaware.com
  2. The form there should be self explanatory. As a shortcut, Louisville is KSDF. Be aware that UPS may not fly into the most familiar airport. For instance, for Seattle, UPS flies into Boeing Field (KBFI), not Seatac (KSEA). Usually, there is an option to pick all the area airports.
  3. When you get the results, on the right side is a form where you can refine the search. Unchecking all carriers other than UPS is a good start.
  4. Remember that UPS doesn't declare flights until a few hours before departure, so the lack of flights listed as "scheduled" doesn't mean there won't be one. Look at the history to see what they've done in the past, because it's likely they will do it again in the future.

Would UPS be likely to fly into Charlotte Douglas or is there another airport nearby? For example, UPS doesn't fly to Seatac (Seattle-Tacoma), they fly into Boeing Field for Seattle area deliveries.

o_O That's basically across the street from my office. PHONES I'M COMING FOR YOU!

I thought about picking it up at the hub tomorrow but I figured I might as well just get it delivered and save the gas money and the 20 minute trip to Independence Parkway.

I'm grabbing mine on the way to work. When I wait at the house, I can't relax because I'm afraid that I'll miss the truck, and they won't leave the package even with a signature on the door (almost happened on an iPad launch day). Happy iPhoning!

Shoot I was looking at the wrong plane. Looks Like I'm on UPS2890

Interesting.. so my flight had a departure scan from louisville like all of you and I had assumed it was on the flight around the that (which doesnt land for another hour or so), just got an arrival scan, so there was a delay in the departure scan showing up. Its now in my city (denver)!!!

Better than that.

  1. Visit http://www.flightaware.com
  2. Under Live Flight Tracking, click on 'Browse by Operator'
  3. In the form, type in 'UPS'

Yes, this does get you every UPS flight, but in the list of airborne aircraft, you can sort by destination. By selecting a particular flight, you'll see the history, routing, time for the flight, time en route, altitude, speed, and many other things for that flight. If you wanted to, you could even pull up the departure and arrival charts for the flight, and even the chart for the runway it will land on.

BL.

5S and 6 or 6S sims are different, you will need to use the sim that comes with the 6s, that sim should activate
when you setup the phone.

Yeah. I actually just changed mine for pickup at the hub. I figured it was worth it since I won't be here in the afternoon and it's not that far of a drive from Southlake.

That will only get you planes that are in the air now. The "between airports" search will also get you scheduled, and history going back a couple of days.
