I think sooner. Can't recall exactly. I think it was a way to track before a tracking number was issued. It may have a tracking number already, but it seems that number isn't released until the phones hit the UPS system stateside?

I remember using it for the 5, I believe, before a tracking number was issued.

FYI for my Apple Watch it didn't switch to shipped until the day before it arrived. Changed to shipped Thursday delivered Friday. The reason is the Watch was already sitting at a local hub in the US.

I've preordered everyone iPhone, it doesn't matter when your order status changes. If it shows delivers by 9/25 you have nothing to worry about.
