I'm scared too! Do you know where the option is to have them hold it at the main UPS hub facility or whatever it's called?
Once you have tracking number and are signed up for UPS MyChoice, you can select change delivery and then have it held at a UPS Customer Center so it will be available that morning. The customer center is your local hub where the trucks are loaded, a UPS retail store gets their packages on a truck just like any other delivery so there is not a specific time they will be at a UPS retail store.

Am out of town, and will be in a hotel on Friday. Changed the "ship to" address from my home to the hotel. As I think the MY_UPS service is connected to my home address, will it still show the shipment to the property we are staying at? My phone just went to PFS, but have not gotten a tracking number or seen anything in my Apple Profile yet.
It will not show up in My Choice as it only loads things to your name AND address for security purposes. You can always try calling UPS once your phone has shipped and request a hold at the local hub but no guarantees.

Not necessarily. I was in PFS for quite some time before tracking came on line.

At UPS, click the "Tracking" tab at the top, then over on the left side is "Track by Reference"

You can use your billing number (just the ten digits, no dashes or parentheses or spaces), or your "W" order number from Apple minus the last two digits. If you use your billing number and there are other packages out there using it, UPS will ask for more information like your zip code.

UPS My Choice is way better than tracking by reference, but not everybody can use that.
 
I honestly can't wait for my 6s+ to ship but for some reason I'm not as excited as last year with the 6. I'm kinda like meh.
I feel the exact same way! I was wondering if anyone else was kind of blah about it. I still love the hype and the tradition of all of it.

I love UPS My Choice, I woke up to the notification yesterday morning that my phone had shipped.
 
I'm calling BS on this. The order page is updated real time and the apple reps dont have anymore specific information than the order page.

Yep. Here's my convo with the Apple Specialist. Shows they know as much as I do.

I tried this by both methods and nothing is showing even though it says preparing to ship.

It won't let me change the range of dates in the search past 9/20 so maybe that is why.

Saw a pending charge a couple of hours ago and now I'm showing PFS. It's not in my support profile yet, but at least my status has changed. 6s, gold, 64Gb, T-Mobile, PIF, ordered at 3:08am EDT when the store opened.
 
How long did it take for everyone to be able to track by reference / show up in UPS My Choice after it was shown in your support profile? Just curious.
 
Well, they can't exactly search for a package that will be shipped in the future.

I am confused by this as I thought that would be the whole reason to get an idea of when they are shipping this week?

I am totally doing something wrong here lol.

If it isn't showing up by the basic search I am guessing I am not in that stage of actions yet.

My local "HUB" is called a Customer Care center when I choose to have it held there to pick up. Might be different for you......
 
Mine is not showing up in My UPS either, but I'm sure it will soon enough. I want to set it for pick-up at a CC since I have a conference later that day and will be sitting on some author panels so I won't be home to grab it. I have to discuss world building and indie publishing instead of gazing lovingly at my new phone. :D
 
I keep getting excited every time I load my order page because the first order listed says shipped....for my dock that I ordered after the phone. And just now I tracked by reference and got excited again...for the dock package. :eek:
yep. I keep getting my Product Red sport band which should deliver tomorrow.

I am starting to get a little worried. I am glad people's phones are going to preparing for shipment, to shipping.... But mine has been preparing since Friday! Still nothing in my support profile, still nothing in UPS, they have their money... Hope I am worrying about nothing!

Mine is also Customer Care center. I also have several 'access point' options including a bike store and a UPS Store but I know I can get it the earliest at the Customer Care center - mine opens at 8:30 and should be there then.

Last year, I got a 'out for delivery' update when the phone was checked into the CCCC. That was a little confusing because I wasn't sure if the hold got missed, but was hoping it meant it was ready at the counter, which it was.
For my watch, I got a notice that it was 'ready for pickup'. Both times it was that morning just before the CCC opened at 8:30.

UPS has no way to know about a package until they receive the shipping details, which will be date stamped with the date they are received. The date is the date of origin, not the date of delivery.
