I would rather pick one up but the closest apple store is 5 hours away from me and even I can't justify driving 10 hours in one day for a phone.

I did the drive, Flag to Phoenix and back to get my new iPad, just could not stand to wait any longer. This foray is for my lovely wife, I ordered at midnight on 14th and received on 21st, she decided on the 15th, oh,ok, I want one, now almost 4 weeks later hers is cruising around mainland China for a little while longer and will be here on Monday. Now if my Piel Frama new iMagnum 599 would hurry up and get here I'll be happy.

Why did you guys order it online to have it shipped? You know you can do a next-day-pick-up if you go online at 10pm

That option was grayed-out when the preorder first started on 9/14. It was grayed-out on 9/15 when I ordered my wife's also.

Ordered 9/18. Due to ship between 10/11 & 10-19.

Got e-mail today. En route from Foxconn. Expected delivery 10/16.

My white, 16GB, AT&T iP5 is finally in country. Pre-ordered 9/16. Quoted as backordered 2-3 weeks with delivery 10/10-16. Apple's site says 10/16 but UPS says 10/15.

Once they allowed in-store reservations, I attached a "gift note" to mine that says "Thanks for waiting like a sucker." Too true. They figure that they already had my money so may as well let units collect dust in stores for people who might spend their money somewhere else. They figure that the quality of the product will take care of brand-loyalty and losing customers is not a concern for them (once you go mac, you don't go back?), so there is no need to treat their return customers special.

I'm not Apple's best customer, but that's mainly due to finances. I have an outdated MBP, iPod Video, iPod nano, iPod touch, iPhone, Airport Extreme Base Station, two Airport Expresses, and an AppleTV. It's difficult to imagine what upgrade in technology will make me want to upgrade to the iP6, but this whole experience has had me wondering if I should've researched the Samsung S3. Airplay = All That?

I already ordered mine and will be here in like 3-4 weeks. for me to do the preorder, do i need to cancel that order, wait a day for my upgrade to come back and then try this approach? I'm about 2 hrs away but am thinking about taking the chance. is there anyway to keep my other order in the system and then if i get on the preorder list, cancel my other order?

Just bought another black 64gb iPhone 5 and I noticed the Part No. is different from my other one. One is MD644LL/A and the other is MD646LL/A. Both are AT&T models.

I put it in an order on the 2nd, had a ship date for mid November.
Saw a local BB mobile had one in stock this afternoon and ended up canceling my pre-order.

Was afraid it would take awhile for my upgrade eligibility to refresh but luckily it only took a few minutes.
Rushed down to BB and snagged up the black 32GB I wanted. :)

I ordered my iPhone 5 about a month ago from Apple, and their website sais the expected delivery is this week but the statud hasn't changed to shipping. Should I worry?

Ugh receipts not online after 18 months

So I thought in changing insurance providers for my house I would add on insurance for my iPhone 5. Turns out Apple never sent me a receipt. I found the packing list that arrived with my preorder showing my order date 14 SEPT 2012, but no dollar amount. I keep every single email and searched exhaustively and there is none for my 64GB iPhone 5 or my wife's 32GB iPhone 5. The apple website only retains orders for 18 months. I wrote to Apple asking where I can get a receipt and have not heard back. Anyone have any ideas how I can show I paid $399 w/ AT&T for my 64GB black and paid the $699 no-contract 32GB white for my wife's? If I can't insure my iPhone 5 I will print the hell out of everything and insist I get a receipt if I order an iPhone 6. Crazy Apple doesn't keep orders on their website indefinitely.

Do you have a credit card statement showing a payment to Apple?

FYI I searched my gmail for my original iPhone 5 order number from Apple and found a PDF invoice for my pre-order.

Apple always sends you an email receipt for your order.

If it has been deleted out of your inbox, best bet would be to check a time machine backup and do a spotlight search for "Thank you for your order" which is the subject line of the receipt Apple sends.

Best of luck!

I have insurance and it paid off when I ran my 5s through the washing machine. I think they just looked up my account by SSN and added the insurance for me, for receipt or proof needed on my part other than identification. I also bought the plan (whatever it's called) where I can get a new phone every year. Not sure if it's worth it or not, but a shiny new iPhone 6 (iPhone Air?) would be awfully nice.

Never did get a receipt. I don't delete anythin gin my gMail. I don't sync my mail to iCloud. My preorder happened when Apple webservers were crashing at the iPhone5 pre-order extravaganza at 3am EST or whenever I stayed online all night to be able to order and couldn't get the damn site to load after refreshing for hours until finally I got through the checkout of the preorder. LOL

I ended up opening a ticket with Apple that was able to recover the receipts from archive within a day. Got the insurance. Two iPhone 5 phones an iPad 3 and an iPad mini - $138/year on my homeowner's. No deductible. Covers theft

Perhaps maybe you should start a new thread instead of posting in a 2 year old thread whose title has NOTHING to do with the info you need.

My post was pertinent to this thread. It was about receipt from the iPhone 5 preorder. It just so happened to be an issue almost 2 years later. :D Why create a new thread when there is already one out there specifically for the iPhone 5? Besides there will be an iPhone 6 thread starting up soon if not already posted. :)

If I get the 6 I will have an opportunity to get theft insurance from AT&T. My insurance policy may win on the cost. Not sure.
