ok so i was able to upgrade on oct 2nd but was in a rush and paid early upgrade fee of 649 for 6 plus 64gb. Question is Can i return my phone and re buy it at 399 since i will be eligible when i receive the phone?any help appreciated as i would get back like 250 thats why I'm asking

If there was a "to Korea and back" or a "mystery flight" club I am now an official member.

This morning I thought my 6+ would be out of China at 4:25pm and was glad to see an arrival scan in Incheon, Korea. All good, right? And then boom, a third departure scan at 7:10pm for the third time.

I am never getting the phone, I suppose. Or perhaps I will get it on 10/6 as UPS page currently says.

Still absolutely no movement from Louisville since Sunday morning. Has anyone else gotten beyond Louisville since the Sunday shipment? I'm starting to get worried.
 
Scheduled delivery for today but last update from UPS is the arrival scan in Louisville at 1:07AM.

I'm not expecting delivery today since usually day of delivery, the material should be in my area and out for delivery.

Here's hoping the scans havent been updated but have low expectations at this point.
 
30+ hours of preparing for shipment, I even went to bed early because I thought I would wake up to a shipped status. Then again with all of the funky shipping going on I might just be okay with waiting it out until ups gets their crap together.

Mine has been stuck in China for nearly a week now. So, now I guess I can look forward to it being stuck in Louisville for several days...if it ever makes it there.
 
Its the time difference that makes that look like it returned. There is a one hour time difference between ZZ and Incheon. I saw the same thing on mine this morning.

Mines still there too, with a delivery date of today... I thought it'd be on one of the many ups flights to my area this morning, oh well

Update: My shipment to Toronto, Canada was updated from Oct 3rd to Oct 2nd and has already reached Canadian soil as of this morning.

U** does not do logistics

So I've come to some conclusions on this whole preorder thing.

  1. UPS does not understand what logistics really is.
  2. The Main Tracking and My Choice systems must use different tracking systems that don't sync.
  3. UPS really needs more flights out of China right now.

My Choice says I'm getting my Phone tomorrow still, but the Main tracking page says the 6th and it's still stuck in ZZ as I've got 2 departure scans and no arrival scans anywhere. My choice has never lied to me before and I get a lot of stuff including international items from Europe and Korea. At worst case things slip a day due to Customs issues. But based on what I'm seeing I'm not sure how often My Choice and the main system sync up but I think it's monthly at this point. Also UPS apparently didn't plan logistically for this, just based on looking at the prior preorders and graphing out the growth rate they should have realized their systems were not capable of meeting this demand. Unfortunately it's not as easy as adding an additional plane or two as you need to buy your arrival and departure slots in bulk usually for at least 6 months of flights at most major airports. And doing so for a Chinese airport is even worse as the military controls the airspace in China and the airports.

All that being said I guess I'll be working and staying at home for the next 4 business days to catch the UPS guy. I really wish I could plan my life better and I expected more from UPS based on my past experiences with them. And I find it ironic that the company that tries to sell it's logistics expertise to other companies now, can't figure out how to bulk ship items into the US with better updates to its end recipients.

We have preordered phones before and it's never been this bad, we also had no trouble ordering when preorders went live in the past.

I wouldn't be too sure. You're on your way from AK to KY. Some of us (myself included) have been in KY since sunday and are still expecting 10/2 delivery. Its not that their backed up, its that they are holding shipments by request of Apple so as not to exceed the original delivery dates.
 
Mine's still showing Louisville, too. I don't have my hopes up for delivery today, but I'm only 3-4 hours out of Louisville anyway, so who knows!?

I'm just glad it's out of Zhenzhung, that was brutal!

Im still preparing to ship so i guess i have no hope of getting phone soon as the shipment seems to be the biggest holdup in this whole mess of a preorder

If you had the 6:33 am arrival scan on Sunday to Louisville then no there has been no movement. I am also stuck there with a EOD delivery for 10/2 I live in Las Vegas so we will see tomorrow. It just makes no since.
