Apple.com preorder thread - iPhone 6/6 Plus

I figure nobody here knows the answer to this...but why would they hold a shipment now to match the estimated delivery date? Its not as though this is the first release date for the phones. UPS has never bothered to hold shipments before for me, if they can deliver them early and there's no special release date to hold for.

This is a poor way to do business for both Apple and UPS. Seems like they could have done it so much differently and had a whole lot of people happy with getting their phones before projected dates. Now I MAY get it before one of the projected dates, but I'm irritated and ranting here because nothing makes sense in all this.

I ordered 09/12 at 8am. Initial delivery estimate was 10/13 - 10/20. The phone shipped on 9/26.

I wrote to complained to him before (about itunebogus itune charges)
Every time I had a VP call the next day to straighten things out ( and he did)
So don't be surprised - they are on top of it - a letter to a CEO of a company most the time works, because it means the company and all below the CEO failed, because this should have been resolved on a company level.

I wonder if your specific phone box was crushed or damaged in transit and they had to send you out a replacement? It's not like it went BACK to China from Louisville, it just started over in China.

Did you pause to think that maybe UPS has other things they have to deliver with guaranteed delivery dates? I'm sure other people with delivery dates of their iPhones ahead of you want them on their delivery date or maybe the gazillion people a day who use Amazon prime or pay extra for quicker delivery...UPS and Fedex do not have dedicated trucks and planes just for the iPhone. That would be a poor way to do business.

Well if this is true and they are holding iPhones for the original Del/dates then we would all be crazy. 80% of us had delivery dates from Apple 10/13-10/20 and UPS has 80% of those delivery dates getting there iPhones on 10/02. So I really don't think they are holding them until your original delivery dates. I could be wrong but with most of us getting our phones before the apple delivery window we first got just doesn't add up. We need to talk to someone in UPS shipping and ask how can someone have a package of the same sort and same level of postmark and yet one will be held for a few days and one will be delivers ASAP. To me that makes no sense at all. I ordered Apple.com Sept 12@ 4am 6+ SW. My OG delivery dates were 10/13-10/20 and my confirmed delivery is Oct2 EOD.

Ha me too!! How is it my phone departed 3 times from ZhengZhou and made it to South Korea and back again to ZhengZhou just to depart AGAIN, like HUH???? ... I'm so annoyed and confused with this whole tracking but I can't help it. Can't wait for my new toy :)

Should get into Anchorage about 1p Anchorage time (5p Eastern). Should then get into Louisville around 1a Eastern on Thursday AM. Not sure what happens once it gets to Louisville. Still holding out hope for a Friday delivery though Apple and UPS are saying 10/6.

I disagree that this is a poor way to do business. Anyone who has been saddled with a delivery date sooner than the original promised is in a good position still. I am one of those people. The scans coming from China to Korea, back to China, back to Korea, now in Hong Kong are amusing. I don't get it but since I was told October 6th - 9th, I am not wiggly. Clearly something is up but I have no clue as to what that is. I figure I'll see my phone. If the 9th rolls by and I don't have it, then I think it would be understandable if I were to call Apple and see what occurred. Otherwise, it's just a waiting game.

Anyone just get an import scan in Louisville? Maybe that's why it wasn't immediately put on another place and sent to me.
 
Just got pushed back to 10/2 delivery. Good thing I didn't plan my day around the delivery.

Just got some movement within the last 10 minutes. I have a 10/2 estimated delivery, mine had been sitting in Louisville since Sunday morning, just got an import scan, looks like this thing is about to be on its way.

Anybody else have a Louisville arrival scan at 1:07Am this morning and then had further activity? Mine's been stuck with that arrival scan but delivery is scheduled for today in PA.

If anyone actually GETS their iPhone, would you please post that here so we know that deliveries are actually being made? Those of us in limbo would really appreciate any encouraging word.

I ordered 64gb gold 6 plus on preorder date at 4:30 am central with an initial delivery estimate of 10/1-10/6. Once shipped, Apple gave me a delivery date of 9/29 and UPS tracking showed delivery date of 9/25 and although it had prolonged arrival before next departure, it arrived as promised.
