For all those still waiting on their phone. Here's an update on my story in case it helps you in figuring out when you will receive your phone.

I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB, Space Gray, Verizon Upgrade, through the Apple Store App on 9/19 at 9:30 AM EDST. I was given a shipping estimate of 3-4 weeks, Oct 20-27th.

On 9/27 my phone was picked up by UPS from FOXCONN in China and it began what seemed like it's never-ending trip to NY. While some phones arrived places and left quickly mine seemed to like to stay 2 days everywhere it went. When my phone initially shipped Apple changed my delivery date to 10/6 while UPS soon there after set my delivery date to 10/2. I never received a change in delivery date from UPS as others seemed to have repeatedly received throughout their phone's shipping path. As soon as my phone was scanned for import midday on 10/2 (today) in Louisville I received an update from UPS that I would actually receive my phone on 10/3. Which by that point I fully expected. I changed my delivery instructions through UPS My Choice to pick-up at their local Customer Center (local distribution warehouse) because I didn't want to have to be looking for the driver all day and I didn't trust the pre-signing which puts all responsibility of a lost/stolen phone on me. I should have my phone by 11:00 AM tomorrow which is the earliest this particular location allows customers to pick-up. It is currently scanned in Jamaica, NY which is JFK airport about 1 hour from my pick-up location.

I thought I might make that last flight out of Anchorage but still no change to the scan. Clicking on Chat indicates it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow but I ain't holding my breath. Good thing to not do in any case, as oxygen is required for survival. If it wasn't on that flight, then it will be Monday at the earliest. At least it's out of China. Sheesh.

i clicked on chat, and it said it scheduled to be delivered today, and that ain't gonna happen for sure.... :confused:
 
Please explain

Can someone please explain the 'A Team' and 'Z Team' thing?
I am new and its a little confusing.
However, its pretty cool that there is a developed system.:):cool:

I live in Phoenix, Arizona (well, Scottsdale, actually) and my phone will be arriving in Louisville tonight. If my phone is to come tomorrow, are they going to truck it over because I don't see any flights into PHX Sky Harbor from UPS.

That's a 25 hour drive! Maybe they use a contracted carrier or send it commercial in the cargo hold.
 
If I change my delivery to pick up at a UPS Access Point Store and pay the $5, would that affect my delivery date? My iPhone is headed to Louisville right now. I'm assuming delivery for tomorrow.

Shipped 9/29

Departed Shanghai 10/2 9:30 AM

Arrived in Anchorage, AK 10/2 1:20 PM.

Didn't make the UPS flight 81 to Louisville, KY that departed 04:28PM AKDT 10/2

Guess it will not arrive 10/3 as per UPS notification.

Now, it's possible that my phone is coming on one of the two flights from Anchorage to Ontario tonight. Ontario, CA to Tempe, AZ (hub) is a much shorter drive. However, I haven't seen anyone on here who has not had their phone go through Kentucky. However, UPS uses the hub and spoke method. Perhaps Ontario serves the west coast and Louisville serves the east coast. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

Same boat. No rhyme or reason...some of them were transferred right to the new flight, others were held back. This is getting really irritating. Never been a fan of UPS and this doesn't really help.

I don't think it will but I didn't have to pay $5 because I am picking mine up at their distribution warehouse which is 15 minutes from my home.
 
Mine has been in "Preparing for Shipment" for 3 days now

I want to do that, however, they are only open until 5:30pm EST and thats exactly when I get off work tomorrow, so that wouldn't work for me. The UPS stores (Access Points) are open later until about 7pm EST.

Maybe this well help... I placed my order on 9/24, it went to "preparing for shipment" on 9/25, it shipped 9/26 and I just received it today, 10/2. I feel like it made a lot of unnecessary stops around Asia :), but overall not bad. My estimate from Apple was 10/13-10/16.
 
A-team check in here:

Wifes phone and my phone both had departure scans of 2:46pm today out of Anchorage.


We live a little north of Bloomington, IL.
