Figured I'd update you guys since I've been following this thread big time. So my phone went from China to Korea to Anchorage, AK, to Louisville to Commerce City, CO all in a matter of 24 hours.
UPS initially had delivery date of 10/2 but then moved it to 10/6 which I had to be out of town later that day. I changed it to pick up at UPS warehouse since it was that. Low and behold, since it moved, it was awaiting pickup on 10/2.
Great to have finally my iPhone 6 in hand!

Frustrated! I'm currently with Verizon and ordered a phone with them on 9/12 at about 4:00AM(6 + 64 gb) and chose the bill to account option. They cancelled my order and stated I had to pay for the phone. I didn't have the money so I went to AT&T the same day 9/25 and ordered my phone (6 + 128 gb) and my est delivery date is 11/4-11/13 and it shows preparing for shipment. But evidently that doesn't mean a damn thing but there are people in preparing for shipment for weeks. I'm just hoping it comes before or after I get back from out of town because I'll be away from home 10/22-10/29 and while I would love it to come early I don't trust my neighbors lol. It's just been a frustrating experience overall!

No movement on UPS. Still Preparing to ship on Apple. Charge to credit card still pending.

Day 6 in Preparing to Ship land. No movement. Everyone on this pallet spent the day slipping in and out of consciousness. Occasionally, someone asked Siri what time/day it is. She could never answer for sure. One moment of excitement happened when someone came to our pallet like a baseball peanut vendor, calling "Labels - who wants a shipping label? Get your labels heeeeeerr!" Everyone jolted to life, crying out for their label and it seemed like there might be hope for us all. Mr. Label guy vanished after he was done and we've all slipped back into our disappointed stupor, wondering if there's life outside this pallet from hell.

I would order with Apple anytime. But just place the order and see what the shipping date is before finally placing the order and see which ship date is better.
Also, you can check every night with to see which Apple store near you will have stock for pick up and reserve for pick up the next day if lucky.
The 6s are taking only about a week order to delivery at this point. I'm surprised you couldn't just walk into a brick and mortar store and buy one.
Anything could change between now and the 9th, LaQuillera. Mine started off just like yours (ZhenZhoung China, Delivery date October 2).
I was biting my nails all this week as it zipped through ZZ China, then Korea, and then pushed to 10-6, and then to Hong Kong, and then no specific date, and then Ankorage Alaska, and then Louisville, and then a new date of today... and now it's on the truck!! So, I expect to get it today!!

It doesn't matter if you get the 6 or 6 plus. There is a wait time on both. Actually, from what I learned there was more of a wait time on the 6 plus than the 6.
I originally preordered the 6plus but then my husband cancelled the two phones because he was convinced that we would be able to find the phones in the store. When that didn't happen we ordered them online again. Then, my husband decided he wanted the 6 instead of the plus because the wait was a lot shorter than the plus. He ended up convincing me in getting the 6 with more memory and now I don't know if I want to stay with the regular. We ordered the two iPhone 6 on October 1st and on the 3rd our status changed to shipped.

We ordered two iPhone 6 (silver and gold) on October 1st and had the same delivery estimate and on the 3rd both phones changed status to shipped with an "early delivery" date of October 9th.
I'm sure you will get yours waaaaaaay before the apple estimate. ----------
That'd be my first option - San Antonio is three hours away. West Texas doesn't have any Apple Stores.
Anybody here who ordered in that Sept. 19th-22nd range got early shipping on the 6+? I have a delivery window of Oct. 21-28, but I wondered if anyone had any luck getting it faster. Still in processing
I am in the same boat as your too. Ordered Sept 19th in the am, 6+, SG, 128GB AT&T...Still Processing. I hope we see a change early this week.
I was in preparing to ship since Monday also. I went to shipped last night(Friday). My original date was October 13-20. Because of the weekend, I would guess yours will go to shipped very soon. My new est delivery is 10/9 by end of day. Apple has changed the shipping from standard to worldwide expedited, which according to their web site, is 2-5 business days.

Same estimated delivery here. Mine turned from preparing to ship, to shipped about 12 AM sat morning.
Says itll be here 10/9 .
my guess is that yours will ship out sometime in the next day or so.
Glad to hear everyone is finally seeing movement for their orders. Mine won't deliver until: Oct 28 - Nov 4 for both my mom and I. We ordered 16GB 6+ in gold and space gray, both are AT&T Next models. Hoping to see some movement by next week.
Mine certainly "shipped" a week early, but will basically arrive as quoted since UPS has screwed up royally with everyone this week.
Ordered 9/26 64GB 6 SG & Gold. Delivered 10/4... About a week's turn around.
Team B... Glad everyone got their phones. See you next year.
Ps. LOVE the phone. Texting is so much faster! IOS 8 is really pretty awesome. Had a hard time justifying upgrading from the 5s but it was worth it. Beautiful screen and great pictures. Love it!
