Macshrine.com states (http://www.macshrine.com/2007/01/02/exclusive-macworld-2007-keynote-plan/) that

"this time we’ve got hold of exactly what Steve will be showing off at the Keynote next week. Sadly it seems that Apple has hyped this event up way too much, unless there have been last minute changes (like last year)…".

Excuse the use of the technical language, but: Macshrine, what a load of crap!

So they know exactly what Mr Jobs' keynote address will be about, and then put an update at the end of the story concerning the AppleInsider iTV story.

Anyway, I could exclusively reveal what the keynote will be about, but I'm keeping it to myself. ;)

Second, I must say I am proud of being an Apple fanboy...Apple is gonna blow us away in the MWSF, and finally lead MS to bankruptcy...GO APPLE!

Microsoft has HUGE amount of cash in the bank. They could go on operating for years without selling ANY products, and still have enough money to pay for all their expenses. Bankrupt Microsoft? Maybe in 20-30 years.

They're not going to release a damn Apple Phone or an iGirlfriend.

You wouldn't be able to afford it anyways. The common unbranded models are way too expensive as it is.

but imagine how sexy they would be. you could download behaviors from the iTunes store. i hope they release a premium black model. *not available in europe. europe will receive the iGuy.

The AppleInsider thing isn't even something that would contradict what they said. Apple has announced things and released them a month or two later before.

I'd love to see how Steve Jobs plans to "demo" ZFS too. No, seriously, I'd love to see it. It'll be an interesting exercise demonstrating such a low level bit of technology. He could follow it by demonstrating the new garbage collection system in Leopard's Objective C, and finally, one last thing, a three hour presentation on XNU's new kernel message passing system.

HEY! There's a few geeks out there that would love that had it not been on the ADC iTunes site for more than a month now :)

For me there is no question that this is directly related to the rumours of the aqua replacement for Leopard. It just seems to fit the descriptions and name (Luminance?) perfectly.

Leading me to believe Leopard will ship in a weeks time. Seems unlikely but I guess we'll see.

Also I'm putting another vote in for an iMac redesign soon, if not at this MacWorld.

I second that, plain and simple.

I current iMac seems like the perfect design, I can't imagine where they would take it. The only thing I think would be the ultimate replacement would be an iMac with the form factor of current models, but doubled as a tablet. So you could use it as a regular iMac or as a portable. However that wouldn't work for the 20 inch plus iMacs.

Yeah, and it would weigh like 20 pounds, too...

I fully agree.

I mean, I'm excited too but damn people. I'm starting to become more aware at how many of us Mac users read into these little tiny things WAY WAY WAY too much. :p

Yeah, it's kinda funny... I'm totally excited about going to MacWorld SF next week, and I'm sure there are going to be a bunch of new products, some of which will "ooh me and aww me"... but regardless of what is released, everyone on here is going to be disappointed about something. I think we can all agree that the Apple phone is probably not going to be released, at least not at MWSF... and yet, people will be b*tching about it on here when they find out it wasn't released... and there might be a delay with Leopard, or any other product that people are looking forward to.

Apple could release something totally amazing, and it wouldn't satisfy everyone because "Apple didn't release such and such like I wanted..."

Ugh.

But relating to your post... yeah, it *is* New Years... it could have just been Apple's way of saying Happy New Years... then again, it is one week before MWSF and their way of building up hype... who knows :p

They're going to announce new deals with the Hollywood majors... my guess, anyway. As well as the other things, this is about more than just the hardware.

wI don't see why you wouldn't be able to transfer them to your ipod after converting them to the right format.

If I'm NBC, Comcast, Direct TV or anyone else for that matter, I might chafe at the idea of my content getting loose on the Internet without getting a cut...

I just think the greed issue hasn't been figured out. Maybe Apple can help move it along - they certainly helped open up digital music with ITunes...

I don't think they will rename anything - but you'll see a nice highly spec'ed black iMac. Now I've said too much.

That is my expectation too.....

The last time Apple created a similar hype based on their frontpage (the 2002 one), it was the iMac that got tha major update and form factor change.

It is now time for the first real update in design for one of the Macs. Technically speaking it's the MacBook Pro's turn, but it is the iMac which is most appealing to consumers. If there were to be an excellent time to change the ff of the current iMac ist is this year's MWSF.

good job taking what i said out of context. really. good job.

Microsoft is a public listed company. They do not own a cent of what they have...

It is very unlikely that Leopard will ship in a week. From everything that I have heard the latest versions still are not stable enough to release. There will probably be a preview of some of the features that we haven't been shown yet, but they probably wont even announce a release date.

A play on word...

Here's my two cents:

The "light" coming from behind the Apple is going to introduce OS-X "lite"

Apple has been extremely lazy lately with ipods, cases, and so far the design of the next OSX. My expectations are very very low that they will have anything that isnt more of the same.

drat! i spent 50 bucks on Civilization IV the other day. oh well, whatever this is will either be iLife stuff or something that would cost enough to make $50 look like chump change...
