I wanted an Apple computer for a long time before I could afford one.

I got my first iPod Shuffle in 2007 from my first job (it took ages to save up) and I remember taking the bus to go buy it.

I got a iPad Nano as a gift in 2008 shortly followed by and iPhone which I convinced my mother to get as I would pay part of the plan by working.

I then couldn’t afford my MacBook until 2011. Then Steve died a few months later. I remember being so shattered as his keynotes were something special and I had been watching for years. I still have that Mac and use it regularly for web browsing and emails.

I knew of Steve Jobs on the day he passed away. After-which, I am living by his famous quotes "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" and "Live each day as if it is you Last".

Now, I am graduating in May next year and looking for job. I hope that Apple will be my first and last company to work with. I wish my dream of making great product to change others life will eventually come true.

RIP Steve.

Apple today celebrates the tenth anniversary of Steve Jobs' passing with a special commemorative homepage on its website, including pictures and a link to a short film that captures some of his most memorable quotes and moments at Apple's helm.

The homepage also includes a statement from the Jobs family, reproduced below:
Also in commemoration, Apple's former design chief Jony Ive has penned a remembrance of his friend and colleague for the Wall Street Journal Magazine.

Remeber Steves words from 1995
“What ruined Apple was not growth … They got very greedy … Instead of following the original trajectory of the original vision, which was to make the thing an appliance and get this out there to as many people as possible … they went for profits. They made outlandish profits for about four years. What this cost them was their future. What they should have been doing is making rational profits and going for market share.”

Oh how interesting the way they is honoring Stev jobs.
went from making the best product to most money and some of the worst in the industry in that price range.

I miss the late 90 early 00 Apple, those were great times....Thank you Steve
That video was spine-tinglingly good, such a legend of a man and boy those were the days where Apple really did innovate! You have to wonder how many more groundbreaking products Apple might have released under Steve's leadership 🤔
Yup… I’m not crying, you’re crying. 😕

This also shows that there is nobody around who can rival his spirit, his creativity and what he has done.

In a parallel universe - at a parallel tech conference - Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Tim Berners-Lee, all die on the same day.

The three men journey to Heaven and meet God, who judges them.

God turns to Bill Gates. “What did you do with your life?”

Bill looks up at God and replies, “I developed the most popular operating system on Earth.”

“Well done,” says God, “You can sit at my right hand side.”

Bill takes his seat.

God turns to Tim Berners-Lee. “What did you do with your life?”

Tim looks up at God and replies, “I developed HTML, which enabled all the computers on Earth to speak to each other.”

“‘Well done,” says God, “You can sit at my left hand side.”

Tim takes his seat.

I miss Steve Jobs. Steve was a visionary, a REAL manager and a force to be dealt with. Yet, if he were alive today and running Apple, I doubt the company would be what it is today.

So what are you saying....

“For all of Steve's gifts, it was his power as a teacher that has endured. He taught us to be open to the beauty of the world, to be curious around new ideas, to see around the next corner, and most of all to stay humble in our own beginner's mind.”

Steve the Yogi.

Having watched the excellent short video, I now can't help but wonder if it's an extract from, or a test-run for, a longer, full length Steve Jobs documentary commissioned by  for Apple TV+…
The clips are all to be found on YT in full-length, so no new material here.

Yes I recognise many of them, but wasn't basing my comment on the footage being new/already available.

I just wondered if Apple might have been working on a longer form version, created alongside this.

Steve changed the world.

But Apple changed. It would be interesting to know what Apple would be with Steve still alive.
I could happily debate this for hours. I think Steve would have seen the writing on the wall with how mature the phone industry has gotten and would have pivoted to a new product stream far earlier than the Apple of today has. No clue what it would have been
