I scored a magic mouse, a quiet upgrade to 8GB RAM, and got really fast shipping on the replacement unit for mine.

Wow, I went through something much worse than most of you could imagine but they really didn't give me much as compensation. I guess I should have complained more.

Apple is great about giving away GOOD free stuff. My MBP 2011 arrived DOA and when I called to send it back for the replacement they:

-Gave me a really nice MBP Case
-Gave me another power supply
-Refunded my shipping cost
-Bumped my shipping on the new one
-Gift Card

WIN!

I think my attitude helps a lot in these situations. I'm never rude, I never yell, I am always polite, and I state the truth: I was just disappointed but I love their products.

Apple has always treated me great as a customer. I cannot think of another company that does so as much as Apple. You know, when I hear horror stories from people dealing with other companies I wonder why they don't treat their customers better?

The HP and Alienware stories are like watch car accidents in motion. You can't help but watch even though you know its going to be a disaster. If you ever feel Apple isn't treating you right, Google Alienware and Horror Story and enjoy the sad, but true accounts. (Reseller Rating also has some great Dell stories).

Cheers!

Wow, that indeed is a good story, but when did they tell you about your compensation, did they do it before you got your 2nd (Working) MBP, or after you received it?

i'm also always very calm and friendly, because they are also very friendly, and they are really trying there best to help you asap.

where do you live europe or US, because maybe that is a difference?

and how did you see your shipping got bumped, as mine is not yet shipped, and shipping method is: standard shipping :(.

Thanks

I ordered a speck case for my 15 Mbp but they sent the wrong color.
So I called up there and they sent me another (letting me keep the first) which was the exact same one as the first. so I called back up there and it turns out that the color listed Isn't sold by them. So they sent me a complimentary third case.
Apples awesome with compensating

Anybody knows if this kind of luck/talent to get freebies work with Apple Stores (real stores) ?

I am in Norway, have spots on my Imac screen and this problem seems not to be fixed by reparations (i read on forum, some people got the screen changed 9 times !!!), so I am planning what to do if the repair is long/boring or if I have problems with the service guys.

I read one guy even manage to score a new Imac 27" to "replace" his 24" from 2008 with ****** screen.

Good thing in Norway is that the law overrule the warranty as defectuous products have to be repaired during a two years period and must not be repaired more than 2 times. Then replacement or reimbursment is the way.
