Well, most of the mainstream media is fine, their only real problem is the 24hr news cycle and having to fill time. Combine that with fighting for advertising dollars (which old school tv news didn't really have to do) and obsession with being first over being right, creates a bit of a mess that doesn't get cleaned up all that quickly. Fox on the other hand is a blatant propaganda network in the style of the old soviet state news org. Seriously, they have an obvious agenda and they aren't shy about pushing it. MSNBC is a bit of a reaction to fox's right wing push, but really isn't anywhere as bad as fox in that regard. They still have some journalistic integrity. CNN is just trying to trying to fill the airwaves and pay bills. If you want decent news, AP or NPR is the most accurate.
I agree with you here and I do listen to BBC, AP, and NPR as well.

Oh by the way, there is a way the US government can put a quick end to all these shenanigans: by siccing the SEC and FTC on them.

Why? Because Apple, Alphabet (Google/YouTube), Facebook, Twitter and Verizon (Yahoo!) are all publicly-traded companies in the USA. As such, these acts of censorship could be in violation of SEC and FTC regulations in regards to publicly-traded companies.

I remember when news was actually news. You know, unbiased reporting of what’s going on in the world and our country. Then the weather and sports came next. It was great. No spin, no BS or "heavily opinionated" columnists, no extreme slants. Now, that’s mostly all you get.

I will say this though: the leftist media and news outlets are more obnoxious and biased than the right slanted ones. Yes, FOX is quite obviously right leaning but they aren’t nearly as vitriolic and cranky as CNN is.

They aren't.

Ha! No. Fox is worse. And CNN isn't the leftist media.
