I am loving the new battery percentage so much! It allowed me to remove the battery widget on my first Home Screen and now I’ve been able to consolidate to 2 pages from 3 and get all my most used apps on the first page.

Being able to see the percentage is so comforting especially when I’m trying to figure out (like right now) if an OS upgrade is having a significant impact on battery. (I think iOS 16 may be improving my battery life which was unexpected!)

Some people like to have all relevant system information available at a glance. There is a reason iStat Menus is a successful product on the mac.

Now we just need a clear all button for recent apps! 😈

Those models specifically have low DPI displays, so rendering something as small as that might make it look weird or illegible.
Completely not the reason. The 12 mini and 13 mini have higher DPIs than every single other iPhone ever.

Suspect it's text legibility. The Xr / 11 screens don't have the pixel resolution to effectively display the numbers, and the mini's are probably either too tight on space, or the text would be too small.
Easy to disprove that, by displaying a screenshot on those phones from a iPhone 14

So anyone who sought an excuse for Apple for this issue by unremonizing theories regarding DPI or limited space has been denied by Apple with iOS 16.1.

The subtle difference between being an informed user and being a fanboy.
what is "unremonizing"?

in any case, speculating about apple's original reasoning is not being a fanboy. most people were just trying to figure out what apple's logic was, not finding excuses.

The real problem is that this feature isn't coming to older iPhones, I am not getting it on my iPhone 11

Hi, maybe many of you already know by now but just in case someone who doesn't know yet sees this thread, i just wanted to say that after the 16.2 update that i underwent today, my iphone 11 now has the battery percentage display.
