The order confirmation that I received at 3:12 AM ET on launch day gave me a shipping estimate of May 13-27, but today it changed to "Preparing for shipment". Yet it still says "Available to ship: 4-6 weeks". Perplexing.

Then again, in the past I've received launch-day shipments from Apple before getting an email notification, so it's not unheard of that these things go a bit awry.

I just hope someone is home to meet the delivery guy if it shows up at my door before May 13.

Wow

Its pretty sad reading all these whinny people complain about irrelevant crap. Seriously, grow up. Sounds like a bunch of 12 year old girls.

Whats even more sad, is half the whinny people here will be back here soon talking about how excited they are they are getting it earlier than expected.

So, I got the e-mail at 8:07PM PDT. I live in California. It says "Your Apple Watch will be delivered between April 24th and May 8th. When your order ships, we'll send you an email with a specific delivery date and tracking information."

HOWEVER, it still says "processing" on the website. But, I'm assuming it's just laggy and will change soon...

That's what they sent me too. Not sure if that's a confirmation on it being shipped soon though

the Apple Watch Sport in Space Grey seems to be the white iPhone 4 of the watch generation :-/ if u know what I mean

What's is even more sad is whining about people whining about irrelevant crap.

My first reaction to people getting their orders shipped sooner than initially advised with no change to my delivery date was the entitlement issue about queue jumping - but in reality there are 58 queues in multiple countries around the world and so far I haven't seen anyone getting "preparing to ship" notification in the same country for the same model ahead of someone who ordered earlier.

It is working out ok for me that I wont get mine until next week as I am not in my office tomorrow and would have to come in over the weekend to collect it.

I think it is great that people are excited enough to be annoyed that they aren't getting it! Better that for Apple and the long term development of this product than loads of Watches sat on shelves in Apple stores not getting sold.

weird - a search by reference found a new tracking number for my watch. strange that they canceled the tracking number from monday.

Fact #1 - Some have to wait for their Apple watch to ship, people bitch.

Fact #2 - Apple watch shipments to arrive sooner than expected, people bitch.

Fact #3 - People will always bitch.

I agree 100% with Facts 1 & 2, but I respectfully disagree with Fact #3.

I would replace "People will always bitch" with "B*tches will always bitch."

:D

Think we are seeing the new world of Apple under their new Retail Chief Angela Angherts.

Think we are going to see more pandering to celebrities and less thought towards Apple's previous loyal customers. That is her background, it is what she knows. I think even more now Apple will play on that loyalty and see us more as a cash cow.

To be honest, this product launch has been a bit of a disaster for Apple, not only the watch but the MacBook. I was in the London stores last week and they do not even have a single MacBook on display. That is really bad product launch management.

Think the market research has been very very bad on what the Apple watch. Certain models seem to be in very short supply whereas others seem plentiful and dates have been moved up. That suggests Apple had no idea what people would buy and that is down to very poor market research.

Take The sport watch. It was always going to be the one most sold. But with market research would have shown which was likely to sell more of the 38mm and the 42mm then set production for that. Of the five colours even to most people it was obvious one would be more popular than the others therefore focus could have been made in balancing that out.

The same would be for watch and the edition. I am pretty sure the case manufactiring for sport and the watch will be done in separate locations as they are different materials.

Having worked in this type of business for a while I think people see the number of versions as being more complicated than it is. But the most important thing is to get good market research, and on that note it seems the first product roll out for miss Angherts has been a big fail on both the watch and the MacBook.

Look on the bright side. Those getting their orders earlier than expected are only doing so because the combination they chose is unpopular. So early delivery is really a statement on you taste or lack there of. Those of us still waiting for our orders can rest easy in the knowledge that we are part of a group who share great taste.
12:03 confirmation still showing processing. Mines a 42 SS with Black Sport Band.

Just got UPS notification that my silver sport 42 with white band will deliver tomorrow. It was originally scheduled for June. Not updated to shipped on Apple site but credit card was charged. I have a second order for a SS 42 scheduled for May that has not shipped.

One of things about people getting up early for the preorders is the fact of getting them earlier than the majority. Getting you watch a couple of weeks later than the 24th because Apple could not anticipate what was popular and unpopular is just not the same.

Is it not just worth selling the watch make some quick money before the other 2nd wave countries come on line and then buying one that will be delivered a few weeks later. After all the cool factor has gone if you did not have it on the first day.

My brother in law will have the White band and I am still waiting for the space grey, will I really think the think is cool after listening to him what it does for two weeks. So actually thinking of ebaying my grey space. First to have is everything 2nd to have is just the same as being 1st loser

A paradigm shift!

This is funny. I like it. I always thought waking up at 3 am to preorder Apple products made me a hopeless geek. Now I know I'm actually cool!

I ordered my 42mm black Sport band/Space Gray a few hours after they went on-sale. No change in order status, no generic letter from Apple saying 'they're working on it.' Still a ‘June’ delivery (I'm in Austin).

Just to update my pointless chiming in.

After I posted yesterday as to having no update, and the original June delivery still on my order, I received an email from Apple saying there was an issue with my payment (stupid PayPal screwing things up).

I called customer service and updated my payment method and my card was immediately hit.

My order status remains unchanged, and no further communication form Apple.

When I got up this morning I had a notification on my iPhone from the Apple Store app that my order had shipped! I didn't get an email from Apple, but when I looked online it now says it has shipped from Harrisburg, PA, but it doesn't have a delivery date.

UPDATE: Just got an update from UPS at 4:15 PM that it is now in NJ and will arrive tomorrow, 4/24, by the end of the day!
