Exactly. So the "X" in Mac OS X refers to the 10. Mac OS X Yosemite is Mac OS 10.10.

If there is an update it will be Mac OS XI or Mac OS 11. Not Mac OS X 11

Well Yes and perhaps No. It really depends. Unlike previous versions such as Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9, Apple seems to want to permanently brand "OS X" as a synonymous name like "Kleenex" or "Coke". They may just call it "OS X, Version 11" or just call it OS X, followed by a code name for now on such as Yosemite. I would prefer for them go back to calling it "Mac OS" followed by the version number.

Well too bad for you. Nice to live in the U.S. where I'll be having my coffee and sweet roll watching the keynote at 10:00am. Not losing sleep over Apple. :D

Yeah - I guess being able to order the Apple Watch on line at a leisurely 5:01PM with a cold beer in hand offsets the early morning Keynotes ;)

I suppose but I'm not a fanboy of that watch enough to be the first kid on the block with one. I'm sitting out the beta testing version. :)

I know OS X is a brand. This just makes a stronger case for it staying as OS 10.11, 10.12, 10.13... Etc.

Until they want to replace the brand :)
