Sounds like the bidding might get a little crazy, it's not worth it at any price

iTunes

All I know is that iTunes is bloated. Apple needs to have a separate apps for music, TVs, books and movies. I'm sure they are working on this.:D

I can't help but be worried that certain companies would pull their content licensing with Hulu if Apple bought it just because some people dislike Apple.

Lots of people dislike Apple but companies don't. Companies are scared of Apple. Different thing.

There is no way

I don't think Apple will buy Hulu....it doesn't make enough money for them to care and if they want licenses to distribute video they can probably purchase the rights themselves for less than 2 billion dollars.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for the AppleTV to have Hulu built in...especially if it came free with purchase of the device. However, I really don't see that happening.

Apple needs to buy Netflix, not Hulu and hopefully one day buy Adobe and Autodesk.

I sure hope not. Shake? Final Cut Studio? Technologies they buy do not tend to survive in the forms that you now love.

Are people really that dumb? If apple is buying Hulu or Netflix is only to close it down and get rid of the competition so they can charge us $1.99 per episode. Wake up and smell the frapuccino.

Another wart?

Would this make Hulu another wart on the bloated pig named Itunes? That mess needs to be split up into several applications that have a little focus.

I have mixed feelings about it, but if anyone can bring hulu to its full potential it's apple. Apple could would probably use it as a stepping stone like they did with lala. If apple gets it, we are one step closer to iTunes subscription service.

Yeah just like they shutdown iTunes. Apple doesn't want to be in the content business.

well lets see iTunes is pretty limited on the computers and pretty much crap on PCs.
But what works with iTunes. Lets see Apple TV, Apple iPod, Apple iPhone. Hmmm seems like Apple only stuff.
Android phone nope not going to work, Stream to Xbox nope again.

I could see Apple killing off most of hulu stuff and limiting it to only Apple products. Not going to work with Android phones like currently and so on.

I think you missed the argument. I honestly hate the Apple eco system lock down.

This is completely out of left field, but the company I'd like Apple to buy is Pandora. Could you imagine Pandora integrated into iTunes? It could instantly satisfy those clamoring for Apple to create a streaming service, plus Pandora seems to have a far better algorithm than iTunes Genius for finding music that I like.

could not agree more. iTunes started out as a great program but has become so heavy bloated and trying to to do so many things now. It feels like so many items have been bolted onto a program never designed to handle them that it no longer works.

I think this would be an amazing way to gain video licenses and streaming technology in one fail swoop. With 76 billion in the bank they should just buy the major studios and then have complete control. :)

Ever since they added the iPod games into iTunes the store has just been a mess. Besides all the bugs and crashes and resource hogging, it would be great if they would just reorganize the store.

So you are trying to tell me that you can't purchase music or movies from the iTunes store and use them on non-Apple devices?

that is all we need - wake up one day and have Dreamweaver X work like iWeb and InDesign X be like Pages...

Anyway do not care who gets it as long as they keep it on the PS3

I still don't get how this benefits Apple. Apple already has a video distrobution platform.

Let me simplify it for you: say you have a fancy ice-cream shop, and people line up outside your store to buy your $25 banana split. Then one day another ice-cream shop opens across the street from you. Problem is they give out unlimited banana splits for a low monthly fee. What would you do to survive such competition? Well, you could always buy that shop across the street and CLOSE IT. Got it?

Do you know how much ice cream you'd have to sell to make up for that wasteful spending? Too much. Especially when your sales are already consistenly "the best ever" quarter after quarter. Your simplification doesn't add up.

you can get music but it took them long enough and only happen because if not the courts would of crack down on them.

Movies nope Apple products only.

You call 2% of disposable cash wasteful spending? Lmfao. In the land of ignorant consumers, monopolization is king. Btw I'm not explaining this one.

Throwing any amount of cash down on a non competitor is wasteful no matter how you spin it. Ignorant explanations are never necessary and their omission is appreciated. ;)
