In terms I think it is good thing, because they cut Macworld and now want to bring it back with a different name.

Someone said the apple had rented this conference building (which the name completely forgot) for June 27th? Is this confirmed?

Actually, they cut two MacWorlds, and morphed the WWDC into the summer MacWorld (in SF instead of the east coast).

If they split WWDC into a summer iPOS conference and a winter Apple OSX conference - they'll have come full circle. ;)

According to **** Apple has reserved Moscone Center for June 27th. I find that quite weird since it is a Sunday but on the other hand I cannot think of another reason why would they rent the whole building other than a major announcement of some sort. Hoping that this latest report says it all...

Has this been confirmed by any of the other Mac or Tech sites?

Yes

I like the iPhone but i like apple for the computer side and i hope they don't forget about us as we stuck with them when MS ruled the PC market, hopefully it will give the keynote a bit more focus  also wheres the download page on the Apple website? :( i miss the widget page.

I think it is clear that OS X is the past. Mac computers are dead men walking and are being abandoned.

The end of an era.

I don't deny that Ipads and that sort of devices are the future, but now it is simply a gimmick to please eyes of consumers. Sure Iphone revolutionized the mobile phone, but the prices that Apple and At&T and other companies practice on the iphone are pre-historical at best. They are overpricing a product that the majority of people want (i want one), but paying 499 dollars for a without 2 year contract doesn't make sense and they don't sell as many as they would sell an Ipad or the ipodtouch, which sold much more then the Iphone.

Still if you want to see a digital movie, surf the internet, work with pro applications, the computer it is the best way to do it. Sure there is imovie for the iphone, I was blown away by it, but it is one of those things, sure it is cool, but if I have an iphone it is something i would rarely use it, because if I want to edit I use the imovie software of ilife on my macbook.

The only thing the Ipad for example has good feature is the ebooks, because i side of that it is pointless. If I want to watch a movie, i see on my Home cinema, or in my desktop or on my Macbook (since that isn't that heavy for going with it on vacation, and when I do go on vacation is to make a computer vacation).

So I think that if Apple thought like that, they will end as company, specially if they still over price the Iphone with stupid 2 year plans.

That way when Wapple goes the way of Wham-o and millions of other fad merchants when smarter and cheaper competition comes along and wipes it out, the toy division and Jobs won't take Apple with it.

But I was told by people on here that I'm wrong in agreeing because Apple is making record profits so Jobs MUST be right! And yet Swatch was once making money hand over foot too. Hmm....

Some people on here don't know anything. I personally believe Jobs is out to completely destroy the computer division, and the board better wake up and wake up fast. Because Apple-O won't live long, while desktop computers will always be with us. Not everyone is ever going to go for that "inevitable" mobile chip in the head.
