Or... those who are compromised should know better to take care of themselves, instead of 98% of the population pausing and destroy futures for. Average age of a covid death is greater than life expectancy itself. No grandpa would ever ask to save his life over his children or grandchildren's future for him. People should take their own responsibility.
No. People stopped engaging in human to human interactions prior to the state orders and tons of humans have continued to avoid those contacts once lifted. Wearing a mask around strangers is the best thing you or I or anyone can do to get the economy moving.

It's a very common term.

In the US (at least on the east coast), I think most of the time shuttered or shuttering means a permanent closing of a business and close or closed usually means temporary.

a) rearead what I wrote
b) look closely at the chart (hint the last 2 bars are longer than those of a week before).

You don't just look at two days... you look at weeks. And they've been going down and down.

Over 50% of people who wear a mask either have the WRONG mask or are WEARING IT WRONG. Cloth masks is more of virtue signaling than it actually being affective.

HERD IMMUNITY! Like we do EVERY YEAR with the Flu!

um every year we have a FLU VACCINE, let me guess you are also one of those people who never get vaccinated? lol

It's worth noting a lot of these countries, not the US and UK have pretty much stopped testing and are just doing herd immunity. Which is what we should have done from the start and this would have passed a month ago. Ask Sweden!

yep. please do ask Sweden. they admit they made a mistake by NOT locking down.

IF IT GETS PEOPLE COMFORTABLE WITH SHOPPING AND IT HELPS THE ECONOMY, WHO CARES?

Canadian here - we definitely haven't stopped testing here, in fact we've been ramping up our testing capacity more all the time. We've moved towards a phased reopening with additional health requirements, use of masks and physical distancing practices still in place, along with additional protections for the vulnerable. We're doing ok, but we'll see how it goes.

Thats good, but the US is performing over a million tests a day. No one else is close to us. Which is why we have a larger number of found cases. Again, cases mean nothing. The whole point of this was to bend the curve and don't fill up the ICU beds... well even during NYC's dark times, they never came close to that. The USS Mercy sat empty in the harbor before it left! Mobile hospitals in Seattle sat empty never used. And many states the same story.

Most ridiculous thing ever closing stores over this, yet alone the economy. And yes I am one of those people who refuses to wear a face mask in public.
The irony here is that we could NOT close the economy if people would accept some relatively minor inconveniences like wearing masks, Bluetooth contract tracing, social distancing, etc. Yet the same people who scream the loudest for the economy to be open also scream the loudest against simple things that would allow it to happen.

NYC and Seattle didn't come close to that because people stayed home and/or wore masks, and when things did start opening, people still wore masks.

If we are finding more cases because we are testing, that means there are more sick people to be tested. You can just stop testing and make the virus go away, things do work that way.

whats the big deal with asking people to wear a mask? you wear clothes to go into a store right? its not a big ask, and most of the time you dont have it on that long.

and please dont bring up freedoms since its bull stuff.

Can I ask what's with the obsession of using the words shuttered/shuttering? What's wrong with the words close/closing/closed
Stores close every night. When they’re shuttered, there’s no telling when they might re-open.

Not sure what your primary language is, but “shuttered” is more precise and is the better word choice to describe Apple’s actions.

A million a day. 😂 😂. Try 1/2 of that.

I think Apple's and Google's plan is a pretty good compromise on security. I agree with you otherwise on bluetooth tracking, I wouldn't think that would be a good idea. But I still don't understand now wearing a mask. It seems like there have been some some recent studies that show it does work, its not 100%, but it is doing something. Seems like such a minor inconvenience for most people.
