I am more surprised that there are enough people living in Florida who can afford Apple products to warrant 14 stores.

Man I know people say "look at the deaths, not at the number of cases" but I personally know people who got sick with it months ago and they STILL have issues breathing. "Recovered" just means not dead. Doesn't mean your lungs aren't thrashed to hell.

my bfs uncle and his brother both died 2 days after each other. His brother was falsely occused of a crime (long story) and had to spend the night in jail where he caught the corona virus. He had no where to stay so his brother (my bfs uncle) took him in, where he also infected the uncle and his wife. people that keep saying it’s not a big deal make me FURIOUS for this experience alone

Most ridiculous thing ever closing stores over this, yet alone the economy. And yes I am one of those people who refuses to wear a face mask in public.

I am against another lockdown, but if you REFUSE, when given the option, to wear a mask, then you're giving all the excuses in the world to do exactly what you proclaim that you don't want: a mandated shutdown and mandated masks. Wearing the mask, willingly, is a minor discomfort. It might work, and it might not, but at times we have to play on the safe side, and avoid looking like idiots just to make a point. I wear a mask, because if it does even 0.5% of what they said, it's just a minor thing; I want to wear it because trying to do the smartest thing will prevent overreach.
Wear the mask to help us keep the economy open please, WE need it.

That chart is a few days old. We've had 700-800 deaths a day the last few days, which is bucking the trend and pointing towards an uptick
Exactly. And cases reported don’t result, in the majority of cases, in death on the same day. The death toll chart could look a lot more to be concerned with in two weeks. I would love to be wrong.

I wish there was a better breakdown by age. For the sake of argument, if the spikes are mostly in the 20-30yo bracket then I wouldn't worry.

Thats good, but the US is performing over a million tests a day. No one else is close to us. Which is why we have a larger number of found cases.
nope sorry but the percentage of positive tests have risen this has been told to death but it seems you have missed it. https://www.wbay.com/2020/06/24/percent-of-positive-covid-19-tests-hospitalizations-increase/

My mother-in-law (not that old btw) is a nurse in NYC area and she got it, had a 103 fever for 10 days and her husband had a fever for about 7 days. Then it was another ~2 weeks each of coughing and feeling super tired. They didn't get to go to the hospital, they count as a "mild case". I just don't understanding how selfish you have to be not to wear a mask. Even if the death rate doesn't go up, at least it saves people from weeks of being sick and possible lifetime damage to their lungs.

It's not a matter of dying or not, but if you get sick with Covid-19 and your inmune system is not strong enough to fight it, you are going to enjoy being in ICU face down, unable to move and with a tube inserted through your mouth. And then when you get cured, enjoy for several months trying to learn to swallow your food.
I'm sure after the above experience you will wear a mask even when you are alone in your house.

Apple is continuing with store closures in areas that are experiencing significant spikes in coronavirus infections, and tomorrow, 14 retail locations in Florida will be shut down.

The Galleria, The Falls, Aventura, Lincoln Road, Dadeland, Brickell City Centre, Wellington Green, Boca Raton, The Gardens Mall, Millenia, Florida Mall, Altamonte, International Plaza, and Brandon will close tomorrow, and customers with devices being repaired at those locations should initiate pickups today.

Apple today closed seven retail stores located in the Houston, Texas area, where coronavirus cases are surging. Highland Village, First Colony Mall, Houston Galleria, Memorial City, Willowbrook Mall, Baybrook, and the Woodlands in Texas are now closed with no planned reopening date.

Last week, Apple shuttered stores in Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, and South Carolina, even as it worked to reopen stores in other locations across the United States. With the additional store closures in Florida, just two stores in the state will remain open -- St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville and University Town Center in Sarasota.

U.S. Apple Stores began reopening in May, and ahead of when store closures restarted last week, more than 150 of the 271 stores in the United States had reopened. When stores started opening again, Apple's retail store chief Deirdre O'Brien made it clear that Apple would not hesitate to close stores again if additional outbreaks demanded it.

"These are not decisions we rush into - and a store opening in no way means that we won't take the preventative step of closing it again should local conditions warrant," O'Brien said.

Apple's decisions on store closures and store openings are based on data evaluation, such as local cases, near and long-term trends, and guidance from national and local health officials. Apple is continuing with store reopenings in areas where Covid-19 infections are dropping. In the Greater Toronto Area, for example, Apple retail stores are opening up on Monday, June 29, which will mean all stores in Canada will be up and running.

In stores that have reopened, Apple is implementing safety measures that include mandatory masks, social distancing, frequent cleaning, temperature checks, and more. In some locations, stores are open only for repairs and curb-side pickup, while others are open but with a limited number of people allowed in at one time.
