Why are you so afraid of terrorists?

Do you realize you are tens of thousands of times more likely to die in a car accident than at the hands of a terrorist? This rampant fear of terrorists in this country is orders of magnitude higher than what it should be.

I'd bank on being struck by lightning before being a victim of terrorism. Stop giving up your rights so easily; the reason authorities want to take them is NOT terrorism. It's to gain more power over us.

You have a good point that it's used to create fear but would you wanna try going easy on airport security for example for a year and see what happens? I honestly think all these government programs actually do work behind the scenes that's why there are so few incidents.

Really? When the next terrorist attack occurs and it murders a love one of yours, I"m betting you would want Apple to cooperate with authorities when they try to find information on the attacks.
If my "loved one" is already dead, what use is any information?

You folks are very short sighted. Exactly what terrorists want. 13 years after 9-11....society is back to ignorance.

Guys get some feel for scale: In the us more people get killed each year in traffic accidents then in 9/11. You really have to finally get away from that paranoia...

Let's call this the "Blowing smoke up you a$$ article, the NSA already has all the info they want. If you don't want someone to read something, don't email/text/call on a cell phone/etc. Nothing put out over the internet or cell towers should ever be considered private, period.

And you're still stuck in fear. Bad things happen to good people, it is an unfortunate truth to life. But when the same freedom and privacy that enriched your loved ones during their lifetime is considerably jeopardized because of a tragic occurrence of such bad things happening to good people, then you should take a step back and look at the big picture.

What's going on NOW with unwarranted surveillance has the potential to bring the America that your loved ones enjoyed greatly into a country of fear, paranoia, unlawful seizure and intrusion, and civil war between friends. This is a major issue whose outcome will forever change the course of history and American culture.

I get it- it hurts to lose the ones you love. I have lost two of the brightest stars of my life wrongfully, but to award such power to a terrible cause in an effort to spite a nameless entity for your losses is a selfish thing to want, and absolutely affects the future of your children if you have any.

Personal privacy is more than revenge. Personal privacy is more than ignorance. Personal privacy is the more than the sense of identity and security to be who we want in a free world. Personal privacy is a cornerstone of the America you and your loved ones occupy, and isn't a bargaining tool to seek revenge on the terrorists who too lost their lives on a day that never should have happened.

I am more concerned why police feel they should to have access to your phone without a warrant.

Because police are only concerned with one thing and one thing only and that is revenue generation. Oh and it's also legal for them to lie to you.

Not a big fan of mistaken bacon.

Oh you're one of "those" people.... the ones that will freely give up their rights... the rights THOUSANDS gave up their lives for you to have. PLUS you're 8 times more likely to be killed by a cop than you are a terrorist so you should be more scared of that police man wanting to see in your phone than you should be some ISIL guy coming and chopping off your head. Grow up, learn your rights, uphold them or lose them.

Agreed, and I am not a "conspiracy theroist" BUT 9/11 hmmmm lots of other events HMMMMMMMM do a little research instead of BLINDLY listening to whatever the administration and or our government tells us, our government are the terrorist, IMO

Oh I'm one big time..... Not saying planes didn't hit the buildings like some but there was WAY too much going on with stocks, things with the airlines and other issues to not think our government didn't at least know what was coming. www.loosechange911.com

no I agree planes hit the towers, and there isnt ANY evidence at all that there was ANY plane that hit the pentagon, but I believe our government orchestrated the whole incident, look up Operation Northwoods,

You guys are extremely naive, if basement dwelling nerds are able to get into LOTS of celebrity icloud accounts which is evidently true (lookup the fappening if you didn't hear about it)... You don't think NSA are going to be able to.. Lol..

Then for you, "the terrorists have won."

I bet you're a TSA fan, too.

Actually, YOU are what terrorists want. And that is for us to FEAR and live our lives differently while in fear of them and what COULD happen.

Ignorance? No. Defiance(towards terrorists changing our lifestyles)? Yes.
