Ugh, in an app store where games costing $0.99 - $4 are seen as "expensive", I'm all for incentivized ad-watching. If you have a problem with IAP, ad-generated bonuses, and prompts to share, avoid the damn games that feature them heavily.

¡Viva el revelador!

No, I'll play whatever the hell I want to and shell out as much cash as I desire in order to play the game that I like. BUT, most of these apps are abusing the hell out of the IAP system and need to be cracked down on. I'm tired of being forced to pay upwards $20 in IAPs for a .99 cent game. There are some games where you literally can't advance unless you spend money in IAPs. Ridiculous.

Hard to find good apps

I like the move. The App store right now is pretty chaotic; many developers have gamed the system; it's hard to find good apps.

Well, could the video that you have to watch be about a good app that you never heard about?.

Look at Apples ibook author. Super cool software BUT if you want to "play" with it, You need some "coins" to use it only on a Mac and sell your products on the App Store and only works for iOS devices.
And all of you say thats fair because the software is FREE and was made by Apple. The reason I wrote this is to say that you can't have great free stuff without giving something back. In this case, developers that make good games for free need to make some money and the only way is to advertise the game.
They do the reward stuff because they only make money if players actually click the banner or watch the video. Honestly I don't see the problem with the rewards. If the game is free and if the rewards are free and if I like the game, I will see the video and continue to play. If not, I will delete the game and go spend real money on other games.

CSR Racing is completely built around this idea. You get more fuel by Facebook and twitter sharing.

Sucks because it's a pretty fun game but it feels like it's all whole purpose is the sharing about the app and the buying of fuel and the game play is just second.

There's a pretty easy way around refueling... just reset your time to a later date/hour. At least it used to work, dunno about now.

It's about time though, these apps really cheapen the experience and make it feel like you're holding a piece of junk.

There is that but then you have to make sure your date and time stays back by a certain amount and I'm not about to do any of that for a game I was mildly interested in to begin with.
