I respect that Apple is trying to do the right thing by its customers. I was affected by the fiasco but waited until it was resolved to place my order using Apple Card. Still, the supervisor I spoke with about the issue could not have been any kinder or more professional. I don’t want this to sound like a love letter, but these folks have earned my business for the next generation of laptop hardware as a result of a couple of recent interactions with them that clearly reinforce the idea that you get what you pay for when it comes to a quality experience.

Yup. Got the 3% added to my Apple Card earlier on. I was wondering what it was. See people no biggie. Got my $6.56. Can’t believe people made a huge fuss about this and even cancelled their pre orders because they missed out on the 3% cash back.
Weird, some were quoting some huge % like 6, but even a $1000 is $30, so at $6.56 it’s like $200 purchase?

eta just read other reply, makes sense. I alternate between pay in full and over time but usually end up paying off in full anyways. Just the idea of monthly payments doesn’t sit right with me.

Nice to hear!

Apple getting credit for what literally every other credit card company does when their purchase doesn’t code rewards correctly…

Ignore the outages and mediocre rewards, if enough people complain about the credit card having problems again and not getting 3% on its own store with its own credit card, we can simply adjust their cash back like everyone else does and still come out as heroes!

You’ll be surprised. I once worked at a big bank, and a client brought an engagement ring for $10k through an online rewards portal that will allow them more $$$$ in points.

well, because thats not his usual activity, fraud flagged it. Called him and then he confirmed. Because he confirmed via phone and it ran that way, he lost on the extra points.

let’s just say it took me a couple months and a lot of tenacity and drilling in common sense to my counterparts via the call center to finally get more than just a one time 5,000 points or $50 credit.

Just go to your citizenloan loan online and change it to Apple Card. I did this right after I receive email from citizen with new loan number. Noticed even then my first payment of the 13PM was charged to the Apple Card. So did get the 3% regardless.
Site is down to check payment option

What I’m saying is. Would using another card when doing the preorder on Apple also change citizen one?

It shouldn’t isn’t it separate accounts

I was impacted but I kept trying and it eventually worked, resulting in my phone arriving today instead of in the first shipments. I wouldn't mind a few $.

Apple getting praise from some people for making good on what didn't happen originally due to poor performance by Apple and Goldman Sachs. Ridiculous. What next, praising Tim because you actually receive a phone for which you paid?

That citizen loan would originate with the payment method you used to start the pre order. Remember every iPhone under the Apple upgrade program has its own loan number.

I haven't heard from Apple yet, and this happened to me. Are we suppose to reach out, or wait a couple days?

Right? No one should use this pos card with literally no sign up bonus and weak offers/rewards. Waste of hard pull.

Well to Apples credit they finally made it right but not before I had to call up and ask

I actually had to look up and search exactly what "daily cash" was. So looks like for the price of a phone you would get enough cash for a modest lunch?

Honestly for the hassle / stress, Goldman Sachs should have offered up 4-8% for loyal customers who chose their product as opposed to cards that had no issues during purchase day. There was a lot of vitriol over the CC issue on launch day, the PR move was nice, but I am sure they could have afforded to sweeten the deal a touch.

3% is way too cheap, but 4%? Yeah, now you're talking! :)
