9 to 5 Mac reports that a number of Apple resellers have been notified that iPad supplies are currently "constrained" and that there is no estimate on when they may become available. The development is not much of a surprise, considering that Apple has been widely rumored to be introducing the next-generation iPad at a media event on Wednesday, just two days from now.
MB292LL/A – iPad 16GB WiFi – Constrained – No ETA

MB293LL/A – iPad 32GB WiFi – Constrained – No ETA

MB294LL/A – iPad 64GB WiFi – Constrained – No ETA

MC349LL/A – iPad 16GB 3G – Constrained – No ETA

MC496LL/A – iPad 32GB 3G – Constrained – No ETA

MC497LL/A – iPad 64GB 3G – Constrained – No ETA
The fact that supplies are already drying up does hint, however, that we may see the new iPad go on sale sooner rather than later. That would match up with a report from AppleInsider late last week claiming that customers should be able to expect "near immediate availability" of the new iPad.

Boy I hope so! I'm looking forward to getting one and have waited for it since introduction last year.

This seems to suggest immediate availability rather than having to wait.

Also suggests the old version is unlikely to be kept alongside the new one à la iPhone 3GS

Bring it !!! I'm ready to purchase iPad 2 !!!
I know lots of people who have the first iPad, and I held off buying... but I'm ready !!! Bring it Apple !!!!

Do they mention anything about UK re-sellers?

Really hoping it will roll out over here as soon as the US. But some how I think we will have to wait a bit.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2 like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C134 Safari/6533.18.5)

With all subsequent releases of Apple products, the product is usually available immediately or within a week. I'm removing my credit card out if my pocket now.

From what i'm hearing, it's going to be iPad 2 Wi-Fi (Today), and iPad2 3G end of March? Will it be only in Apple stores at first, or can I get it at Target and the such?

great news. Can't wait to pre-order one for my parents :)

hope it also has that webcam.

No Retina screen=No upgrade for me

Congratz to the lucky ones, getting their's this week.

Probably taking pre-orders starting Mar.2 and then delivered by next week :)

I think that they would have to release it around the same time, if not, they would have a stack of iPad 1s left in their shops when the 2 was finally released.

Nice blog BTW, enjoyed reading it.

I have the 16 gig wifi/3g and it is in pristine condition. I'm going to sell it or $450.00 and cop the ipad 2 but in 64 gig wifi/3g.

I really hope the sales partners, especially Best Buy, get them sooner than later- I've got a good number of BB gift cards I've been planning on using toward a 2nd-Gen iPad.

I'll be a bit disappointed with it not having a much-improved screen, but it should still be a nice improvement over the original otherwise, and I'm tired of waiting to get one- I could easily wait forever since there'll always be an improved model coming...

@magbarn as a developer I doubt they will have a retina display. Too many screen resolutions to deal with already. I hope we move to a resolution independent mode like 10.7 is gearing up for. Then we will see retina in iOS. Don't hold your breath for retina. It won't happen.
