Apple Damaged My Device

So, let me get this straight. You are "american psycho" when it comes to the appearance of your devices, yet you have them stashed away in ugly-ass Otterboxes? Yeah, that makes sense.

Exactly.

That is about it:) ... I spend most of my day in the garden and workshop with a daily walk in the woods nomatter the weather...so the otterbox covers are well worth it. Once a week i wash my ass, put on a slim iphone cover and head for town.

I have been to the phone company repair shop when my iphone5 died after 13 months (lucky there is a two year standard warrenty here in denmark). The guy at the shop wanted to write normal wear and tear but i asked what that meant? And he took a look at the phone again then said that it he would write down mint condition instead..... Otherwise i might end up getting a used phone back as replacement.

Oh, Ive seen quite a few people on here complaining about it and most of the people I know have had bad experiences, could just be select Apple stores that have issues, but thats an issue with pretty much anything now. Guess I was incorrect :)

People more often come to forums like this one to complain or call attention to problems than the other way around, so they're not representative. The same is true of anecdotal reports. So surveys are pretty much all we have to go on, and they're generally very positive. However, anyone who's dissatisfied with Apple's service shouldn't just accept it because most people are happy.

If the machine was as pristine as you're claiming, they wouldn't have noted any wear and tear.

I took my iMac in for repair and the tech wrote the same thing on the paperwork.

I think they are trained to write "general wear and tear" even if they don't see damage. I felt a bit insulted since I take good care of my equipment, so I pointed out that my iMac was absolutely pristine. He checked it over very well and changed the notation on the paper work to say "like new condition, no scratches or dents".
My iMac was returned to me repaired and it had three small scuffs on the back. The manager came out and asked how they could make it up to me. I asked for a leather case for my iPad and they gave it to me.

Some people are careful at the Apple store. They really take care of your device. Others, holy crap they couldn't care less.

I had a genius put his fingerprints all over my screen. He was literally touching it right in front of me.

This was my 15" 2.3/16/512/750M model late 2013 aka 2600 bucks!

I don't see why Apple doesn't just fix these things. They should hire a team of engineers dedicated to the science behind fixing dents and scratches so that the genius could easily do it.

That way, if a customer complains of a dent, the genius himself can take care of it.

Anything new?
I assume you are not going to leave the iMac in the store forever?
I hope Apple helped you.
I had for years very good experience with Apple service although a careless tech is in any service workshop a possibility.
Speaking to Senior Advisers has always been the way to solve any problem in my past experience although that kind of problem never happened to me.
Hope the best for you! :)
