Having recently become a father myself, I thought this video was quite nice. I look forward to the years ahead with my little girl and I hope that technology will be a blessing and not a curse for our family. At this point I think it could go either way. Just one of many concerns I have for her future. Hopefully Apple will keep up the good fight for our privacy, while making every interaction with technology an opportunity for learning and growth.

If there's one complaint I have against this ad, it's the number of times an iPhone almost came in contact with water! If I didn't know any better, I'd think the iPhone was waterproof.

Though it's not waterproof, my iPhones have come in contact with water countless of times.

Wow dude. Just, wow!

It sounds kind of ridiculous when you put it that way, but powerful mini computers are pretty advanced compared to some older technology. And there are people who can't afford food or any kind of electronics let alone an Apple product.

People trying to protect their iPhones from water shown in Apple commercial itself. Please Apple make next one waterproof.

The camera attachment

Anyone know what the macro lens attached to the iPhone was? It was viewing the hermit crab.

A commercial with a iPhone being thrown in a pool (yet survives) with none of this silly mood music would be a 1000 times better than the crap I just saw. I don't want to buy any special cases, thermometer attachments or dog collars.
I know that there are so many hipsters out there but Apple could try to make a waterpoof phone for us normal folks. But knowing Apple their too stubborn to do so.

Very generic and not nearly as good as the other recent ones. It's also a little sad to see little kids using iPhones.

Very touching. I wish it was more obvious where to find the list of apps from the ad.

It is. :) Look below the video in the article. It says:

The song features "Life of Dreams" by singer-songwriter Julie Doiron and showcases apps such as My Teeth, Drawnimal, Pet Manager Pro, and Kinsa. Devices shown off in the ad include the Withings Withbaby baby monitor, Kinsa's smart thermometer, and the Parrot Flower Power.

and it gives links to each.

I know this doesn't have too much to do with the ad but Don't give your babies phones as a means to keep them entertained I've seen it before and it really makes them anti social and you have to buy a new phone every month when they break it.

My 3G got broken a couple of times, but our 4/4s/5 have weathered our son's abuse with amazing toughness. I can't imagine life with an ASD child without iOS.

Love it, love it!!! Apples ads really do make me feel proud and blessed to have the opportunity to own and use such amazing products every day of my life.

Blessed?? Its like we are almost not worthy of these amazing holy products ? :)

I Robot? I Phone

Indeed we are not worthy to be in the same room as this two year old device.

Now.

Let's get the ******** in the bin. It's a bloody phone.

Not a surrogate parent. Let's aaaaaalllll take a step back and understand you're not really more powerful (than what exactly?) because the phrase doesn't actually MEAN anything. Do you see?

Here's a very little known fact - your brain IS actually slightly MORE powerful than an A7 processor. Just. Wow. Hey. Only just, mind.

For those touched by this advert ... Not so much.

For the rest of you out there .... You are more affluent than "powerful"

... So ...

See you in the queue in two months for the iPhone 6

Cos it's business. Not emotions that Apple deal in. Well fancy that!

Cheers! :apple:.

Totally agree with you .... All accessories are actually quite expensive.

I'd like to see Apple put as much effort into their product line as they do in their advertising. The iMac "update" was horrific as was the recent iPod Touch "update" and the news their pro photog app (Aperture) was being discontinued. Well, at least Apple's advertising department is in full swing.

Apple's lost their focus...

The fully waterproof iOS 8

Now that you mention it.... Maybe it is a hint to iPhone 6... that will finally catch up with Samsung and Sony :D

Nice AD, by the way, although makes me tired just seeing it. No rest when you have children!! :)

I've been told the waterproof feature is coming in iOS 8! Hence why they used the 5s in the ad...

Okay....um the focus continues to be "relate the product to active lifestyle market". Bingo we have a winner....the Chicken Fat ad accomplished the same...and for those bemoaning these ads..these ARE product ads..they are tagged as "5s" ads with carrier co-ops...and I might "ad" a "5s" ad at the very end of its product cycle - the ads goal - make the product relevant to ones life... If you're a parent (the core target here) this ad accomplishes that goal nicely...

Number 1 smart marketing goal - go for active lifestyle market - and you'll always win. Their wrist device fits that mold perfectly. Nobody has yet to "marry" a "mobile wearable watch" to that market - yet....stay tuned..
